I thought I never would but I found it

So I have a beautiful new food saver and wanted the jar attachment..I found the jar attachment but dam no those

So today I drove to another small town to pick up james bond series and whole there stopped at salvation army store

While looking at kitchen items one of the ladies was stocking shelves...says 75% off all kitchen wares today... I was looking at a big canning pot but it had no lid and was rusty inside..she says please buy it I need room in shelves..So I glanced at the shelf above it and there was an older food saver...with the HOSE...tapped underneath with the electric cord.

SCORE the food saver was 10.00 and 75% off so I just have to figure how to get it to seal properly...to pooped today from shopping adventure which started this morning with new tires on my car that I thought would be 700.00 put was only 468.00...savings went towards preps

I am a happy camper...

Congrats. Since you got the hose with the one you bought the following probably doesn’t apply, but just in case... There are 3 types of hose connectors on the food savers: White, gray, and green. Each one is slightly different. The white one I have does not work in the green (backup) one I just bought.

I have a question when using it do you wait till the machine turns off for seal...when I use vacuum seal and vacuum my machine automatically stops and seals for the bags

Both models that I have behave the same way when using a mason jar accessory: When it detects a vacuum it activates the “seal” (just like when using a bag) and then shuts off.

I am waiting on a brake bleeder with hose attachments as back up for my new sealer…. I watched videos on it and one woman said her sealer quit working so she had used the brake bleeder snd preferred it

I bought one and had to return it because it stopped sealing. Just in case I bought two more, but have not tried them.

I also have this

in addition to my regular food saver.

If all of these fail there is the oven.

I have that handheld sealer but am not impressed with it. I watched the videos and followed the suggestions. Even using 2 lids. The jars seal but slowly lose the seal. Sometimes overnight, some days or weeks later. I occasionally hear pinging and know I lost another seal. I should just buy a food saver.

Hey that looks like a great device!

I bought one of these and have been testing it. It does work, however...
(1) It does not seem to pull a good of a vacuum as a full machine. It is nice for the counter top to reseal a mason jar (of spices as an example) that is frequently opened and the contents used. (I test how much vacuum is pulled by putting a marshmallow in the jar).
(2) There is no light to indicate that the device is done, nor an auto shut off when complete. You'll need to listen to the sound it makes to get an idea if it is done or not.

I have one of these "Jar Vac". It works great for any jar that fits in the chamber. Pulls a very hard vacuum.
I think it is discontinued now.
