I don't think we will know the winner by the morning.

I don't like either candidate but had hoped that one of them would win decisively. Looks like I won't be granted even that wish.

Bush looks likely to take Ohio, where there are already a number of legal challenges and issues outstanding. He is trailing in NH and NV, which raises the possibility of a tie, and even without that, a very narrow win is possible.

I only hope he can pull out those two states, or Kerry will do the gentlemanly thing and concede without making a big fuss (fat chance of that.)

Looking at the yahoo map with what has been called, New Mexico and Ohio are leaning for bush and that'd be enough for 271. Alaska would add another 3. Am I missing something?

I sure hope we get a winner sometime soon. I'm entering my 3rd 8 hour shift :(

NBC just said it looks like another hour or so for ohio results, though ... maybe

tired,

You're right, if he takes NM he'll be okay... barely. Because he lost that in 2000. So NM would offset a possible loss of NV. But it will still be awfully close.

Alaska to Bush. Bush now has 269. If Kerry wins everything else, it's a tie. But NM has Bush 5 points ahead. The GOP is still hoping for Nevada.

It's a done deal - NM, OH - and four more years of rampant, unchecked federal spending, pre-emptive self-defending against oil-rich 3rd world countries, and the PATRIOT Act II (aka "The End").

Forget fire and brimstone, this is it.

I really hope Bush takes NM and Kerry concedes and I turn out to be as wrong about this thread as I was about my other predictions today.

Yes, but at least he'll protect us from terrorists so we don't have to worry about being attacked for at least 4 more years. Whew!!!

I am still concerned about legal wrangling in Ohio. The Ohio margin has narrowed from over 200,000 to 100,000. And they have lots of "provisional" ballots or whatever that term was, and lawsuits pending. We'll see.

You know, Michael Moore headed up to Ohio to cause trouble. He must be succeeding.

Indeed; I expect to wake up and see that Ohio is this year's "Florida". Punch-card ballots, I understand. Chads again.

Does this mean I can break out the freeze-dried champane to toast TEOTWAWKI :D The stuff has a 20 year shelf life, but it starts losing its bubbles after 5, and I got it in '99. :chg:

If you want it to keep its bubbles, you have to use the dehydrated carbonated water to reconstitute it.

Why did the Dems suddenly become the "stupid party" and run a flaming left-wing dweeb like Kerry? They only have themselves to blame. I'm pretty happy that Kerry will never get the chance to replace Rehnquist with Michael Moore!
