Food I am making freezer meals: Shepherds pie!

I am making freezer meals
.Onions, carrots, peas, corn and hamburger meat, all mixed with beef gravy poured in pie tins. Then I cover it with mashed potatoes and grated cheese. Yummy

I make them now and freeze them…..goods eats.

We love shepperds pie. I've done this in the small pyrex glass dishes with lids which are perfect meal size for DH & I.

My older son loves shepherd's pie. I have a few seasoning packets from a european food store and I need to get some of these made up. Or maybe I'll just get the ingredients and let son put them together however he likes them. I know when hubby and I went to the UK you could buy hand pies with that filling. Oh my goodness were they tasty.

We do this too. I got started one "once a month" cooking 30 years ago when I was single and working/traveling. Having a big freezer or two has always been a priority especially since DH does not eat left overs in the same week.

I do a variant for my son. Instead of mashed potatoes, salted baked potato which is sliced open and has filling poured over. He loves it.

I love sheperds pie. I like cooking a large amount and freezing meals for later. Last time I did this it was a chicken thigh and broccoli with gravy/cheese. We served it over rice.
