Recipe How to Make a Garlic Burger

packyderms_wife

Neither here nor there.
Take your 85% or higher ground beef and smoosh it very thin between two sheets of waxed paper. Salt and pepper.

Cook until well done, I hit it with a splash of Wooster sauce (sorry I don't know how to spell the other word) because that's my preference.

Meanwhile, toast two slices of bread.

Once the bread is toasted it butter it and then sprinkle garlic powder (the granulated type) on each slice and place the cooked, and still hot, burger on the bread. smoosh all three pieces together for about 15 seconds. Remove one slice of bread and add very thinly sliced sweet onion, and slices of lettuce put the toasted bread back onto the burger and eat the most delicious garlic burger ever.

NOTE you can use fresh roasted garlic if you have some on hand, instead of the garlic powder.

Orion Commander taught me how to make them, so he may add his two cents worth on my method... ie I may have forgotten a step or two.

DAAAYYYAMNATION!!!

now that sounds INCREDIBLE!!!

Raggedyann is going to far Northern MN on a photo shoot (N A Black Bear) for 10 days leaving tomorrow at sunup.

GUARANTEED that I WILL BE feasting on some GARLIC BURGERS in her absence!!!!

only thing I would change would be to use granulated garlic - IMO it's a much more "potent dose" :D

wonder how those would be with some Blue Cheese crumbles on it? or would it be "SACRILEGIOUS" to mess with something already so absolutely perfect???

Oh my! That sounds so tempting I might have to do it on the sly. No onions allowed in house. Garlic - you’re taking your life into your hands. But I do it anyway. Who shall argue with the sharpest knife in the house in my hot little hands?

Thank you so much for posting!

Wheat or Tare, which are you?
That sounds really good, I'm tempted to go make some right now...But
I'm in the middle of souping some brock and eggs...

I'm gonna make some tommorow!

Thanks Packy!!!

My jar says garlic powder but it's actually granulated! Let me know how you like your burgers! Hadn't thought about blue cheese. I'd try it on only one half of the sandwich and try the other side without and see which you like best.

I'd saute up some garlic minces in butter in a pan, and then "toast" a nice hamburger bun in the pan... inner surfaces only.

Not that I'm averse to granulated garlic... if thats what you have, its better than no garlic! But i just harvested almost half a bushel of delicious, pungent garlic cloves...

For those who don't know, peeling garlic is simple! Just lay individual cloves on a cutting board (or a paper plate on the counter) and give it a firm whack with the flat side of a heavy chopping knife, or the bottom of a heavy spoon. The skin should peel right off.. possibly needing a bit of help by slicing off the root end. I peel hundreds of garluc cloves in tomato season for canning spaghetti sauce, and this little trick works.

Agreed, hence the reason I put the roasted garlic bit at the end of my post. My garlic is crapola this year, I thought it was me and got to talking to other local gardeners and truck farmers and theirs is very tiny as well. as in the whole bulb is smaller than a nickel in diameter. So granulated garlic it is for my household.

Packy to bad about your garlic. mine too . . . this was the worst stand of garlic I have had in memory and that's a LONG dang time. I pulled it in the 3'rd week of june - thats about 2 weeks early here - because I could see it was going to rot if I didn't get it out. got enough good sized heads for seed next year, but nothing nice enough to braid and give away to family like I have done for YEARS. I'm the official "keeper of the garlic" it is my grandfathers hard neck Italian Garlic - the only one left in the family that's growing it anymore - and we've had that seed in the family over 90 years now.

TOO MUCH RAIN!!! :sht:
