Homesteading Today seems to be full of trolls, but the break off site Homeateading Families is pretty nice. Not aa much male perspective as I would like but still good and pretty active. I used to be on Frugals quite a bit, again u til he shut down the fiction area and the Cathlolic bashing ramped up.

For me godlikeproductions...back and I mean way back on my first computer I was doing a bible study and found godlikeproductions..yes they are a little wacked...but that site brought me to here and tb2000 a learned about tol

And like AA....it was the greatest relief in the world that I was not alone in prepping...and when there are more then 2 there is a meeting...

A lot of the times its not the stand out news story that I read but the replies..it helps me to decide things to prep or follow

And over all the years I have been a member I behind the scenes think of a lot of you as family

One thing I miss from the old sites were the weekend campout meets. For me it was alpha rubicon organized events, but other websites had regional or local area campouts. Does anyone still do this?

I suspect a major reason for this is people being 20 years older with more aches and pains.

Zombie Hunters and their weekend "campouts" >>> made the local news more often than they should have

Found this place in 99 or so I think. For the past 5 years or so I have haunted adafruit.com forums, alienslegacy.com, and therpf.com (they incorporated the hunters lair aka predatorium.com a couple years ago)

On The Level
I guess it's this one that is still growing strong. Though I was a lurker my first several years.

Enjoyed WarRifles while it was there. Ordered my first Mountain House in a group-buy out of there.

Another was 'Gold Silver' something or other. It had a slow mass exodus, the real interesting posters faded away, and then a split into two different forums. It basically sucked at that point. That place was where I was really dropped down the rabbit hole of conspiracy research. It had awesome general discussion and topics other than gold and silver.

Full Size Chevy was another awesome one. They were another VBulletin forum. I guess there was some sort of crash and they couldn't get it back up or restored. It was awesome GM truck info as well as a great general discussion and other assorted fun stuff. Long gone.
