Well, now that I see the symptoms listed, it appears I am having a mild case that I must have picked up the first day of my trip. Huh, good thing I started all the prophylactics the 2nd day I got here just in case I did get infected. I honestly thought it was just the change of scenery bothering me. I wonder how many do think it’s just a cold or sinus issue?

As an aside, my sister works in medical in the eastern part of the state and their hospital demanded everyone be jabbed. Now they are trying to cope with 20% of the staff out with Covid. She still says everyone who is sick in hospital is unvaccinated but I really really doubt it. That vaccine sure is a wonder drug, isn’t it?

Edited to add I did have a miserable case of Covid when it first started going around and no, I have not had the jab.

I just logged myself. I have not taken any sort of test, just know that I came down with the latest whatever that is going around with a headache as one of the symptoms. Totally crashed after getting home from work last night (5 pm or so) and slept on and off til 6 this morning. But I took the ivermectin and this morning the cough, sore throat and headache are all gone (thx to some ibuprofen also). I'm also on ampicillin due to a tooth abscess.
However, all that is left of the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious variant is a runny nose.
Which I will take alka-seltzer for.
And in the end, since everything is the rona, I supposed I should vote here.

I added 5 just others just now, two daughters, two son-in-laws and my grandson all tested positive. One SIL is Navy and has all shots as well as my daughter. The other SIL and daughter have had no shots. Appears to be affecting them the same.

A lot of people that have sworn up and down that it had to be rona wound up actually having that creeping crud that has been going around. Flu is also making the rounds. It is like having the rona is some kind of fashion statement or virtue signal.

The hospital census at daughter's hospital has gone up and she said admin says they are full ... only thing is they aren't "full" of rona patients and "full" only because of reduced staffing. Same thing at my son's hospital; census slightly up but not due to rona patients.

So, it is like one of those modernist paintings ... one person sees one thing, another will see something completely different.

Daughter became sick on Christmas day. DH became sick 3 days later. My turn 3 days after that. Her 2 children also started having symptoms.
Daughter has had 3 negative tests since Christmas, turned positive today. The tests were all rapid tests. She is finally feeling better, but turns positive! WTF! She gets the Big test tomorrow.
I added 5 to be positive. We have all had basically the same symptoms for over a week. DH and I will not get tested.
These tests make no sense to me.

My 80 year old buddy in NYC caught covid and is in the VA hospital in ICU. He called me around 1:30 to tell me they're treating him like a captain but can't give him much more then remdesivir. He sounded a lot clearer today while he's on oxygen. He has bacterial pneumonia. Covid? or maybe just normal flu, not sure.

Anyone here use or know anyone who took the remdesivir protocol?

I had Remdesivir it worked for me but for some it doesn,t the fact that he sounds better is a good sign

I just wonder when the populous will all recognize that this was a direct attack, not unlike Pearl Harbor, by the CCP and respond appropriately.

Had it, had the jab, and added to the count with my kids & family in Colorado.

Yes, I have friends who kind of brag about how they are sure they've had it multiple times & it was nothing. Whatever. My symptoms were exactly like Omicron, but I actually tested (not home/rapid) and came up negative in spite of possibly being exposed to ds who was positive. DH is fine and never gets a cold but is more susceptible to COVID. Could be false negative I guess. But I'm better now with no lung involvement, symptoms were also exactly like a crummy cold that I've had a zillion times.

Purely out of curiosity I will probably get an antibody test; I had a negative one recently so it would be a check of the reliability of the COVID test if I come up positive for antibodies.

And for those who wonder why to test at all: I was taking extra of my precious Ivermectin pills until I knew, and more of other supplements that all cost $$$. Plus of course not wanting to infect anyone else.

Took DH and myself off. Been 12 days and starting to have noticable improvement , finally ! DH is starting to get his sense of smell back . Me, still nothing . It's a start.

Compared to my first time in Jan 2020, it was a little milder but still extremely miserable .

Prayers for all who are getting through this , it's awful .

Announcement:

Effective immediately, there will be no posting of numbers higher than 1 on the poll, in one day. If you have 2+ cases to report, you must do them on different days, 1 per day. This will reduce the number of heart attacks, panic attacks and hair-on-fire responses of members from scrolling through the posts and seeing a huge increase in the total number of cases.

As you and your family members recover, feel free to post them all at once.

Any questions should be directed to our Chief Curmudgeon.

Thank you! ;)

I was diagnosed positive today as was my 24 year old daughter. We haven’t seen each other in 2 weeks so I didn’t get it from her. Both unvaxxed. This is her second time in two years to test positive. Super bad cold symptoms that came on suddenly. Like within 30 minutes. I had a runny nose for 3 days prior to that which isn’t all the unusual for me. Very slight sore throat. I’m a little concerned about my lungs. They are feeling a little croupy. There is a chain of urgent cares here in St Louis that are really good. Three of them did not open because of staff shortages. Their online appointment goes live at 6 am. I got in. Every single one of these urgent cares were booked within one minute. One. Minute. I was ready for it and had everything filled out as soon as it went live. My daughter drove around to a few other urgent cares and finally found one with openings.

I was diagnosed positive today. I had a low-grade fever for all of one hour on Saturday. Deep chest cough, sneezing and a very runny nose.

Having had this crap last February, I thought it was a conventional flu...I guess now I'll have a double dose of antibodies!

My O2 saturation was 97% - not bad for a fat, old white guy! :xpnd:

They prescribed something for my cough and the normal zinc and vitamin regimen but have dropped ivermectin.

I think that’s the exception not the rule. The omicron is kicking ass, everyone I listed (7 total family) have been positive. The hospital here is not admitting unless the case is severe, lots of people whine with the sniffles and want to be admitted but they aren’t. I think some have the flu and want it to be Covid, but the majority of sick people are suffering Covid. Businesses are shutting down not because of mandates but because of the number of sick people. Herd immunity is gaining traction though and this will burn out.

So I guess I’ll add my son-in-law even though he has no symptoms.

Vaxxed and probably boosted, had a BAD case of Covid 12/20. No symptoms.

I am still not vaxxed, also had a pretty bad case in 12/20.

My fourteen year old daughter tested positive at the clinic today. That was a surprise to me as I thought she might still be young enough to not get covid. She’s been sleeping some and has a sore throat and fever of around 100.

This is how my 15 year olds presented with it. One did have some GI symptoms for 24 hours about 3 days into it.

What is the name of the antibody test? My primary care doctor told there is not an antibody test available. It is frustrating to not have access to antibody testing.

Just added two. My brother (64) and nephew(32) both were not sick but tested positive at work. Brother is vaxxed nephew is not. Biggest concern is my mom. She is 95 and vaxxed and my brother lives with her. No co-morbidities except her age. My sister sent my mom's parttime care giver home because my brother is positive and she will assume care of my mom but she wants to know if she is positive also. She has been around my brother and her son (my nephew who is positive). They all live in the Los Angeles area. No rapid tests are available.

Told them all to act as if they are positive, and make sure to take all the supplements I have told them about repeatedly. Also, reiterated using Xlear nasal spray and gargle with the proper mouthwash.

Praying it will be short lived and very mild.

I haven't heard back anything about my buddy in NYC. They were going to give him Remdesivir. Does anyone know if ivermectin and Remdesivir work together? I found a clinical study that never got off the ground due to lack of volunteers. 200MG Remdesivir the 1st day followed by 100MG the next 5 to 10 days while taking 24MG ivermectin all at once in the morning for 4 days.

My buddy though he caught the flu over a week ago but after a few days it subsided. He is unvaxed. I think he got the covid at that time and within a few days his immune system knocked it down, but it came back and he entered stage two. He should have been admitted 4 days earlier. He waited until his breathing was real bad. Now has has bacterial pneumonia.

So, changed my vote, been almost 3 days since any fever. Basically it was like a mild cold with a low fever and a lot of fatigue - which is like everything else I've ever had. I basically slept through it, which is what I always do.

IVM and HCQ did nothing apparent. Vitamin C dried up the congestion.

I'm glad to have natural immunity, though I'm thinking I'll get an antibody test in a month or something. That place I got the positive test result was pretty shady looking.

It's actually making a dent in our area. UPS is half staff, a restaurateur just died (IDK if CV), 1/2 of our feed store staff, some guests caught it 2 weeks ago on their way out, a cleaner was exposed over Christmas, the owner of an hvac company, another entire hvac company is closed. Whether or not it's just Omicron, we're having to deal with a lot of sick.
