Update on my brother in law from his wife........she said hospital told her he suffered a blood clot. No more detail than that, which for me is frustrating, but I held my place. Summerthyme hit this one correctly......thank you again Summerthyme........would love to provide more, but that's all I got! My prayers for all who are going through family , loved ones, friends that are stricken with this virus. May God Bless you all and pour out His wonderful Grace on those in need. Thanks to all here for listening.......this is truly an amazing family!

Sue, prayers outbound for your two grandgirls to have a quick and complete recovery.
Thank you, just got off the phone with everyone….they have just about zero symptoms and we had a fun, long-distance giggle fest. Appreciate your prayers and thankful they are well, and asking God for this to be accepted by gov types as creating natural immunity for them. Quarantined till the 14th then back to school after getting cleared.

My best friend phoned me tonight. In spite of two shots AND the booster, she has COVID (thus far, a mild case).

I'm off to be tested later today. No symptoms, but I spent an afternoon with her within the contagion time frame.

Thanks, China, you $*#@s!

Pretty sure we all had the Delta variant a few months ago. It went threw the whole family. Grandkids brought it to us at the beginning of summer. Then all six of us got it one by one. Some worse than others. But over all it was just a really bad to big time snot making summer cold.

None of us are vaxed. All of us are on the horse dewormer. And take vitamins. Plus work outside alot.

My entire family is sick with Covid. Took Mom, 87 and brother, 50, with Downs to get monoclonal antibodies yesterday. Six am today had to call 911 for them both. Mom fell and hit her head and has a small brain bleed (on Elequis) so she's in Neuro ICU. Brother is hallucinating and admitted to the Covid floor. My one healthy sister is with him. None of us are allowed in to help. We would love any prayers!

Me, hubby, 2 sons, and pregnant daughter in law are all in various stages of it. Mine has gotten a lot worse today. Still gotta be better than the Damn shot!!!

Prayers for your family to get over this quickly, and for a full and complete recovery.

Are you taking the vitamin supplements (D3, vitamin C, quercetin, zinc) and Ivermectin?

Get a smell training kit off the internet - NOW!

It is not your olfactory nerve that is affected, but the nerves that feed into the olfactory nerve. When they grow back the new connections can be faulty. Give your nerves the best chance of growing back correctly by smell training.

As to how long -. You will probably never get your full sense of smell back. What your incredibly clever brain does is adapt, and after 3 months, you barely notice any change. Or that is what happens to my eyesight, when I get a virus that makes the optic nerve swell, the doctors tell me I will be better in 3 months. They are wrong. I notice the sudden loss of sight, but 3 months later, there is anything barely noticeable, as my brain has adapted. It normally takes a year for me to get back 80-90% of sight, but it never fully recovers.

Anecdotally, I know of a friend of a friend, who totally lost her smell, and it has never come back. OK she can smell aromas that would normally overpower a person with normal smell, but nothing else. So her taste is gone, and she used to like a nice glass of fine or a fine meal. She will never taste those flavours again

And I have a friend who slightly lost her sense of smell, and it has partially come back. She does the personal care of old people. Great she can no longer smell pee or poo, but she also has to be careful what she eats as she no longer has a discerning palate.

For those that have had severe loss of smell, it is possible for the nerves to grow back incorrectly. Hence the need for smell training. People have been left with all they can smell or taste is poo or vomit. They can't eat as all food tastes awful. Losing 2 stone, might be a dream to some, but is a nightmare if you lose 2 stone each year. Or they cannot work, as someone's perfume / aftershave / deodorant / soap etc. makes then vomit. Hence the need for smell training.

And what makes Covid so bad, is that in a year's time you can go through all this again. Immunity wanes. If anybody tries to tell you that cannot happen, once you have an illness you are immune for life, try telling them about Norovirus, with all immunity gone 6 months later. You can then get another bout of vomiting and diarrhea.

Good luck and I hope you get your normal sense of smell back quickly.

PS I forgot to mention the person who had milder smell loss has since been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. She does not think it is that, but Long Covid. What she thinks happens is the virus did not just attack her nasal nerves, but the rest of the nerves in her body. The nerves have now regenerated, but incorrectly, which is why she is in constant low level pain.
Wow, I did not know about having to retrain your brain to get back a normal sense of smell. I wonder if that is why many who are put on ventilators die, has the brain forgotten the how to breathe signal?

Another family member offered this...."they were supposed to be watching for bloodclots and some one dropped the ball." So the hospital does have a way of watching and detecting blood clots?

Popping in to update. Mom on the other side of Covid but pretty weak. It's my brother I'm worried for. He hasn't been lucid for a week now, and he's unaware of what he does. Does Covid attack the brain or cause brain swelling perhaps? My poor sister that's with him is exhausted, I feel sure he's hit her multiple times while thrashing his arms. He has pulled out 6 IV's now.

Oh, how awful! Yes, viruses can cause meningitis or encephalitis. What do his doctors say? Has he been given ivermectin? Hopefully it's just a medication reaction, not something more serious. Prayers for your family from here...
