So, 2 weeks ago, I posted that my grandson had tested positive. My daughter didn't get tested, neither had symptoms. So I believe it was a false positive. He had one of those rapid result tests. She didn't get him tested again. How many false positives have there been that don't get removed from the stats? Also, no one ever contacted us to tell us to isolate, don't they do contact tracing any more?

Forgive me is this is too far off topic, but I'd like to know, if there are others who have had Covid, and experienced fevers lasting more than 7 days?

I haven't read through all the other responses on this thread, so please forgive if this is a duplicate of what others have experienced. I reported earlier that DD1 had lost her sense of taste and started on the IVM protocol. (She's just fine now, BTW.) DS2 just got confirmation that he has/had covid. I just think the way it ran through our family is interesting. (We all live within a short distance of each other and get together for meals and church Friday through Sunday.) This is the way it went:

DS1's fiancee started with it. She is a radiology tech student and in the hospital and at school a lot. (And her dad with whom she lives is an MD). She tested negative, both the rapid and the regular tests, and had all the same symptoms that everyone else in the family who got sick developed. DS1 got it and was miserable and hacking up a lung for a while, but it was otherwise just a bad cold. DD3 (17YO) was the next victim. Coughing forever and I kept her home, but it wasn't a big deal.

DD1 and 5 month old GD caught it next. GD was a bit miserable, but it just looked like a bad cold. DD1 had been taking Sudafed and Afrin to mitigate the cold symptoms and keep attending classes. She started the IVM protocol when she lost her sense of taste (and was the only one to lose the sense of taste or smell). DDIL (vaxxed while she was pregnant) caught it next. Fairly miserable. DS2 (husband of DDIL) was really miserable, getting better, and then developed a very painful cough. Visited with a virtual doctor and got a script for azithromycin. Almost immediately started feeling better. He was also tested, and both the rapid and the regular tests came back positive. So patient zero in this family tested negative, and the last one (so far, anyway) tested positive. No one else was tested. The only two who didn't get it were DH (vaxxed) and I (not vaxxed).

There is no doubt in my mind that it was all the same illness.

Apparently my husband and I have the flu. I was tested negative for Covid, and since he has the same thing as me, we didn't bother to get him tested. Strangest flu I've ever had though. One day I feel fantastic, the next day I'm running a fever again and feel terrible.

So we tested positive for Covid today. Our doctor used the rapid test (not the PCR) and apparently it's very accurate. I'm on day 6 of symptoms, and hubby is on day 7. We have been using the FLCCC protocol, but not much of an improvement. So, because I have a clotting factor, and DH has 5 stents in his arteries, we opted to get the Monoclonal Antibody Therapy. I'll let you all know how it goes!

I keep looking at the number going up, and it’s quite sad. Members and family members sick, some not doing well or worse. I’m waiting for that number to start going down, but maybe those people won’t update. Prayers for all of you guys! Hang in there.

We found out yesterday, my husband's sister (who lives in Mexico) has covid and pneumonia. She is in her late 70s. The doctor wants her to go to the hospital (which is a mess in Mexico, and you have to have someone go with you to take care of you, too), but she has refused.

Most locations no longer contract trace, when we did the rapid test it came in a two test pack. Directions were if negative wait 36 hours and retest. And to isolate until negative test. If positive on first test or second make appointment fir the OCR test and isolate until that one is back. Isolate if showing symptoms or if you test positive.

So it's been 2 days since the infusion. My fever is gone, but hubby still has a low grade one. We feel a bit better, but not fantastic yet. Hopefully will be even better tomorrow.

I just updated that both myself and hubby are no longer infected. However, I am noticing that my smell/taste are not 100%. Does anyone know how long this can last? It's like I can't fully taste/smell. I've lost 50% of both. Glad we went through it and it was not serious enough to be in the hospital. Still not taking the jab!

I got it before anyone knew what to do and almost a year later, my smell and taste are a bit weird…still angry that we were all denied anything that would help…I should have been treated a month earlier than I was but thank GOD I had the idea to go see an alternative healing Chiro! He definitely saved my butt..

My 26 yo Son called to say he's COVID positive on a test from Walgreens. 4 days in feels like shit with a pounding headache. Not taking anything preventative. His 3 year old toddler has symptoms. I've had no close contact for a month.

Have you sent him the FLCCC protocol? It did wonders for me!

It CAN last for the rest of your life but I've read usually no more than 3 months.

I had to change my vote........lost a family member today....two days in the hospital and his oxygen levels were low, so they put him on a vent........died shortly after that......brother in law..............another family member, brother in law, is showing improvement......never put on a vent.....thankfully it looks positive for him. They are both in their late 60's. I feel angry about the family member put on the vent......I thought that there were treatments to prevent that from being necessary.....this family member is in South Carolina......the one doing better is in Florida......it might make a difference.....I don't know. But I just wish that each had known how to take care of their own treatment.......we are a very fortunate family here......we share, and we know! Not everyone will listen though. Sad.

Steve, how long had he been sick before he was admitted into the hospital, if you don't mind my asking?

I don't know how long he had been sick, but i do know that he was in the ER just a few days ago.....then admitted........the family doesn't communicate details very well......so it seems he may have been sick for a number of days and then, probably due to breathing issues, decided to go to the hospital. I don't mind you asking at all! My family is different.....we give all details and so forth......I'm trying to put the timeframe together myself, based on what I've learned.......my guess is, he waited too long, and didn't have self-care meds like most of us here do, and it cost him his life........my husband's family just doesn't communicate with one another very well......if I had known, I could at least have offered my invermectin.....don't know that he would have accepted it, but I could have made the offer. He was too young to die.......didn't need to happen.

Get a smell training kit off the internet - NOW!

It is not your olfactory nerve that is affected, but the nerves that feed into the olfactory nerve. When they grow back the new connections can be faulty. Give your nerves the best chance of growing back correctly by smell training.

As to how long -. You will probably never get your full sense of smell back. What your incredibly clever brain does is adapt, and after 3 months, you barely notice any change. Or that is what happens to my eyesight, when I get a virus that makes the optic nerve swell, the doctors tell me I will be better in 3 months. They are wrong. I notice the sudden loss of sight, but 3 months later, there is anything barely noticeable, as my brain has adapted. It normally takes a year for me to get back 80-90% of sight, but it never fully recovers.

Anecdotally, I know of a friend of a friend, who totally lost her smell, and it has never come back. OK she can smell aromas that would normally overpower a person with normal smell, but nothing else. So her taste is gone, and she used to like a nice glass of fine or a fine meal. She will never taste those flavours again

And I have a friend who slightly lost her sense of smell, and it has partially come back. She does the personal care of old people. Great she can no longer smell pee or poo, but she also has to be careful what she eats as she no longer has a discerning palate.

For those that have had severe loss of smell, it is possible for the nerves to grow back incorrectly. Hence the need for smell training. People have been left with all they can smell or taste is poo or vomit. They can't eat as all food tastes awful. Losing 2 stone, might be a dream to some, but is a nightmare if you lose 2 stone each year. Or they cannot work, as someone's perfume / aftershave / deodorant / soap etc. makes then vomit. Hence the need for smell training.

And what makes Covid so bad, is that in a year's time you can go through all this again. Immunity wanes. If anybody tries to tell you that cannot happen, once you have an illness you are immune for life, try telling them about Norovirus, with all immunity gone 6 months later. You can then get another bout of vomiting and diarrhea.

Good luck and I hope you get your normal sense of smell back quickly.

PS I forgot to mention the person who had milder smell loss has since been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. She does not think it is that, but Long Covid. What she thinks happens is the virus did not just attack her nasal nerves, but the rest of the nerves in her body. The nerves have now regenerated, but incorrectly, which is why she is in constant low level pain.

Just a few details to add concerning the death of my brother in law.......first, the above post I made should have read "my sister's husband's family" doesn't communicate well. My niece texted me late last night and told me that she had talked to him on the phone that morning (Tuesday morning) to see if he was ready to go, because he had been told he would be released that day, and he told her he had to wait just a little longer and she said he sounded fine. I don't even know if the family was alerted before they put him on the vent shortly after he talked to my niece....and from the time frame I'm able to put together, he just very quickly died after being put on the vent. I would really be interested to know what, if any, treatment he was given. His wife got sick first......she thinks she picked it up at her workplace, and she feels he got it from her. She was able to ride it out at home....bad cough was about all she dealt with.....she said she had an inhaler for that and had a tele-med visit with a dr. She didn't mention any other meds that may have been given to her. So my guess is her husband got sick but tried to ride it out at home and by the time he went to the er it was too late........but it's puzzling that they told him he was being released, so his symptoms couldn't have been showing up yet and he had a sudden plunge in oxygen level..........I have to be very careful about inquiring for information........I have to do it in small bits at a time. But his death is just bothering me because it seems the hospital didn't consider him to be in danger until he suddenly plunged downward............it's so sad...........I will share any treatment information when and if I can learn it. I think it's helpful for all of us to learn about the details of the kind of care and treatment the hospitals are giving, and I know it probably differs from state to state. Thanks to all of you for your prayers and for listening. Wanted to add that my sister said she has been sick about two weeks.

Steve... Obviously, I have no idea what happened to your BIL But if they were getting ready to discharge him, I'm thinking he crashed into respiratory distress very quickly, and they intubated him trying to get him oxygenated, but failed. I'm thinking he may have had a massive pulmonary embolism or some other acute cause of death...
