I wa just thinking about a couple of different timesaving and kitchen and garden helpful hints and thought why not everyone share.
For instance...
For a never fail, never weep meringue, add a teaspooon of corn starch to the sugar before beating it into the egg whites.
I personally dispise meringue, my grandfather told me it was calf slobbers when I was a kid and I refuse to eat it, to this day. But my family loves it so I make it for them, gagging all the while I make it!
When mincing garlic, sprinkle on a little salt so the pieces won't stick to your knife or cutting board.
If your cake recipe calls for nuts, heat them first in the oven, then dust with flour before adding to the batter to keep them from settling to the bottom of the pan.
Your turn keep it going... there is a wealth of knowledge to share!
Blessings,
Tina
