I know, right?

Actually, it was intentional.

If the cabinet closed the front gap in diagonal fashion, it would fit in square...by a few inches.

So, the question remains...WTH were they thinking?

Maybe someone was from a different culture, where constant bruising on the hip is considered attractive?

If I'm seeing it right, the dish washer is to the left of the sink. With the sink turned out like it is, it lessens the amount of water dribbled on the floor when they move the dishes from the sink to the dish washer.

If you notice the cupboards on top of the fridge then it seems the fridge was supposed to be a slightly narrower version, then the sink would fit in.

The sink fit in that base cabinet.

If the base cabinet was installed square, there would be more room for the fridge.

The problem with my premise would be to find the correct size fridge to fit in with my plan.
The problem with yours is the cupboards above the fridge would still be short of overall width or length, whichever way one looks at it. :chg:

Yeah, I'm not going to keep going ... other than to say that the cupboards on top are short of the necessary width, irregardless of the sink slotting in and besides ... :hmm:

Interesting that...

The uppers above the fridge are all the way forward on the fur-down.

It's hard for me to judge their actual width compared to the fridge with the angle of view.

Hard to say if they are really short, without a direct frontal view.

Ah, I see ... wtf is a fur down? I have done a search in the kitchen fitters digest and nowhere is there any mention of the "fur down".
