Ford Escape '08 vibrations.

Friend just had tranny rebuilt (last week) by reputable shop. Tranny is built by Mazda and a real booger to rebuild. My friend's friend is a transmission mechanic and recommended this other shop saying he wouldn't touch it as they are soooo difficult. Anyway, two new drive shafts were put in with this job. Car vibrates at 50 mph and above. Car was returned once but still vibrates. Sounds like a drive shaft problem to me but others here are much more knowledgable than me. WHAT COULD IT BE?

Vibrates like an out-of-balance tire, or could it be that the torque converter lock-up mechanism is having trouble maintaining lock, or is not smooth in its ability to automagically lock/unlock as the loads increase/decrease while driving -- what sort of terrain was being driven when noticed, what speed, was the engine RPM bouncing back and forth, was vehicle loaded or pulling a trailer, what sort of head-winds were being encountered?

i would like to put my two pennies worth in on this .. i tend to think if it is a speed related vibration it would be the tires or the drive shafts aka half shafts.. if its all the time no mater the speed it then would be the trans or torqconverter.. oops almost forgot they could have buggerd up the bearings in the wheel hub also and they would vibrate all the time .. i had bad hub bearings on my 2000 blazer they would vibrate from the git go and vibrate wores the faster i went..
