Finally Killed a Toyota

I ran my wifes 88 Camry into deep water one night during some thunderstorms that induced some urban street flooding. engine snorted water and next day I pulled the plugs and blew it out. Now, it cranks, has spark, fuel is coming out of the filter, but no start. It will start with ether. My guess is something EFI related was drowned. It's time to part it out...

Before you do that, check and see if the timing belt jumped...(if you wish to keep it.) The 4 cylinders in Camrys are not interference engines and can take a lot of abuse.

Actually, dry out your efi harness. Pull the plug, hit it with a hair-dryer, then spray some dielectric grease in the contacts. Odds are that's your issue.
