This past weekend was the Estes Park Wool Market. I went down with 3 fleeces for judging, and to see fiber friends. They did not have the wool market for the past 2 years. Lots of vendors, although they were pretty short on weaving/spinning tools and books. Tons of raw and prepped fibers and yarns. The fiber group I have been in for the past 7 years did Sheep to Shawl again today and made a clean sweep of awards. Grand champ, judges' choice, superintendent's choice and peoples choice. Their educational display was about fiber arts and called "Healing Hearts" fiber arts and mental disabilities. The weaver of the shawl was an autistic 11 year old boy who rocked it!!! FYI 6 years ago today we did our first S2S and won that one also!!! Our group has been competing in some form ever since and winning awards all along.
