Freedom Isn't Free
If you get an email from usps saying you have a package coming, DON'T OPEN IT.

I received an email this morning, supposedly from USPS saying a package was mailed out to me this morning. I had just received a package yesterday from somethings I had ordered. At first I thought maybe this email just got sent out late. I also enter a lot of sweepstakes so I thought maybe I won something and that is what the package was. I gave a link to click to view the shipping label. Like a dope I did. It started an application and I new I screwed up.
I ran my security essentials virus scan and another program hijacked it. All of a sudden this program call Live Security Essentials shows up do a scan and showing that I have 38 different infections. When I clicked on repair it wanted $49.95. Went to cancel that and was warned that the viruses were still on my system. I know that Microsoft Security Essentials is free so damn. I tried running other programs and nothing would run. I managed to open the control panel and uninstalled the program, Live Security Essentials. It said it uninstalled but the program was still there telling me I had all this infections.
I rebooted in Safe mode. I spent a couple of hours running scans. I ran ani-malware, advancedsystem care 5 from IObit, and security essentials and was able to repair all the errors they found. I restarted my computer and no luck the damn thing was still there. Luckily I had a restore point from only two nights ago so I did a system restore.
Scanned my system again to ensure it was clean and created a new restore point after that.
