BRKG Durant, Ok, Walmart on 1/14/22

Texican

Live Free & Die Free.... God Freedom Country....
Did a project in Dallas today and on the way home had to go by the Durant, Ok, Walmart to fill some scrips. The parking lot was full. Went in and the buggy corral was empty. Was able to grab a buggy as a young lady was leaving and did not need the buggy.

I looked at the checkout line and every checkout was manned with long lines waiting at every checkout and the self serve checkouts. Have never seen every checkout manned at a Walmart before.

The store was crammed full of shoppers. There were empty and picked over areas in the meat department, vitamins, cold and flu. Areas that I shopped.

Got the scrips filled for the DW and I except for two that takes special approval.

Interesting late afternoon at Walmart.

Texican....

Their is something in the air, besides this front blowing in. The last week or has seemed to just be off wherever I go. The people collectively are sensing something coming.

More people out and about during the weekday afternoon hours. It’s been like Christmas season level crazy. Tonight DW wanted to go for dinner and their were lines everywhere. We drove past lines at fast food and they were all backed up.

The dogs have been crazy. The pup has been taunting the middle dog playfully but annoyingly for the last couple of days. The old dog is acting way off her routine.

So their is something going on. It feels like everyone is preparing to hunker down. People prepped as they felt loved, the dogs wanted one last day of being happy., and tonight was one last round of merriment. And now we collectively hunker down.

Went to the local WM after work yesterday and it was packed. Shelves were pretty picked over, grocery delivery truck had arrived about an hour or so earlier because the associates were pulling the loaded pallets out on to the sales floor to be worked. Dairy cooler had no Great Value brand milk of any kind, bread was wiped out, baking aisle only had about a dozen five lb bags of sugar. In frozen the pizza section was very picked over, the center three coolers were empty. Got what I needed and escaped. This is western OK, about an hour or so west of OKC. The forecast is for very cold weather all weekend with the possibility of flurries so that is likely a contributing factor.

Our local WM yesterday looked like the day before Christmas eve; packed, all checkouts manned, even self checkout was overwhelmed with long lines. Their carts heaped over. Looked like public heard something bad is coming. More news reports of bare store shelves may be pushing panic buttons on the sheep. Bad enough I turned around and left rather than line up with the masses.

Now that I am retarded, oops, I mean retired, I get to go out shopping at off hours. Yesterday I too noticed a definite uptick in traffic here in rural Central PA.

The collective unconscious (or intuition) is a much more powerful force than we realize. Recently I was sitting in a gazebo on a deserted college campus (during Covid shitdown, oops, I mean shutdown) and I sensed someone would be approaching from my left. Five minutes later, two people approached from my left and walked by.

A disturbance in the Force. Can you feel it?

Some areas are getting ready also, for intermittent school closures for Covid in my area.
Maybe parents are getting the house restocked?
Two townships around my area announced temporary online school again due to sick teachers

Wife went to store last night, on way to her mother's. Said she had to go to 3 store
before she found it all.
All the store's had low inventory and non had everything. And prices are higher!
What cost her 35 dollars a few months ago cost 53 dollars.

Schools are out here because of covid. If I walked in to our Walmart and saw all the checkouts manned, I would turn around and run to my car and fly home. There is probably 20 checkouts and 15 self check outs. For the last year you are extremely lucky to have 2 checkers working. I am one of those people that will not use the self checkout.

Winter storm due in next day or so. FL and I topped-off gas preps, kero and foodstuff Weds eve so as to not have to deal with the mess. Even then it was semi-crowded but not "Empty Cart Stall" crowded but there were still a lot of isles with limited goods.

Got to talking to another old Geeser-he slowly hinted his way into a conversation about Politics, I could tell her was trying to be careful about not getting into it with a potential SJW NPC so I came out and loudly said "Welcome to Socialism 101!" so everyone in the Isle and likely the next, could hear me.
I think the Stockboy was an REEEEeeee! type-by his demeanor.

Its the perfect storm. Massive calloffs for work across the country on Thursday Night for Friday (My company does massive work in that arena) This was not storm related. This was 4 day weekend related.

A Massive storm (at least how the media described) coming in for today and tomorrow.

A "Holiday" on Monday that some are celebrating like a mini Christmas

And a FEAR PORN Press running 24/7 Covid horrors of Omicron and Supply chain famine. There are shelves in which there is a squeeze but without the fear porn there would be plenty of other things to buy if your favorite is out.

Bottom line FEAR OVER THESE THINGS IS RIDICULOUS.

HOWEVER Most have no idea the real thing to fear and be prepared for that is marching right down our throats as they continue their storm/covid/famine preparedness with Hohos and yoohoos.

They need to be preparing their spirits, bodies and minds and supplies for WAR!

Day by day
I was online shopping and comparing prices last evening at HEB, Kroger, Amazon, and the private brand specialty manufacturers who will ship their products. Prices are still skyrocketing.

On HEB and Kroger, there were pop-ups/notices apologizing for items being out of stock, suggesting folks ordering for pick-up allow all substitutions, etc. We're not having bad weather down here in terms of snow/sleet/rain, just the big cold front with strong winds.

I'm leaning toward the news reports of empty shelves and people seeing it themselves in the stores and spreading the word that's stirring it up. I'm really glad I got the last of my seed orders in already, and my seed potatoes ordered, too. I got word that our local feed stores have their seed potatoes in, and I've already seen onion sets in (1013s). I think I'm going to get more seed potatoes from our local stores.

This time around, the food shortages look like they may be worse than they had been before.

Yep...my guess, and what I'm seeing locally, parents are contemplating having their kids home again all day remote "learning". Some of the smaller private schools have closed the doors, and I expect the public will next.

Gotta feed their kids again instead of depending on the gov't kitchens for breakfast and lunch.

It is interesting to see this across the U.S. Our Walmart has been insane the last two days...we have a winter storm coming to North Ga (which is a huge deal) tonight thru tomorrow. I can't imagine what today will be like. (on vacation so I will miss all the fun) All my customers are asking and complaining about the empty shelves. I attempt to fill them in but they just keep ranting on and on. It's like they're

zombies... I'm betting they all took the jab. Hunkering down for the storm and will be playing with the pups in the snow tomorrow.

People have gone crazy. Government has most of them scared of their shadow. Checked our weather report earlier and there was a big red banner warning of a severe winter storm coming through this morning. Hmmm...better check into that. The details showed 'a coating to 1 inch of snow'. When in the hell did that become a severe winter storm? We often get 4 to 6 inch snow here. But it is enough to send the panic stricken folks to Walmart.

The perfect storm also includes the start of NFL playoffs, which means more beer and munchies beyond a normal weekend.

Sooo, while at Murphy getting diesel...

This little POS car pulls up, sounds like it's about to throw a rod.

A 50ish, miserable looking, morbidly obese, greasy slob of a cow gets out...long stringy, mostly gray hair. You get the vibe.

She goes out of sight for a minute, then I her her SCREAMING, "GOD****IT, GET OUT OF THE ROAD!!!"

Everybody there started looking...yeah, that loud.

There was a little girl (8-9yo maybe) who had gotten out of the car and was standing by the front bumper looking terrified. WTF?

I kinda watched but missed any more interaction.

Walking around the island to fling trash, I saw her giving me gotohell looks...More WTF?

I walked a bit closer and told her, "I hope that little girl gets to pick your f****ng nursing home".

She quickly turned around and studied something else.
