There is actually a medical condition that's defined as "-dying of a broken heart". I agree that's exactly what happened to him. Plus, on top of losing both his wife and mother within a week, he lost his "job"...or life's work, which was caring for his beloved "girls".

I was so impressed when he went back to school to get his Certified Nurse Assistant training, just so he could care for them better. Thats a true MAN, there.

I'm grieving his loss, but for me/us, not for him. For him, this was a great gift...

RIP, Fred. We'll meet, one day.

While "His banner over the table is LOVE" may GENERALLY describe the party we're going to have, I will guarantee that SOME of that party will be relocating itself into the brush and weeds and will NOT be gentle OR quiet.

MUCH like my people who will be there after a while from WNTC, my college radio station whose parties at Allens Falls (on the St Regis) were EPIC!

I just scrolled past this thread, and upon reading the title, I involuntarily uttered "that dude was awesome".

Thought I'd share. So many here exhibit qualities that are not common, these days. Though, they are more common than most think. Yet, there's a bar out there, that some folks will never attain. Some because they settled into the wrong bar, if ya know what I mean.

Dr Frances Ogden “Fran” Foreman Fuller

June 27, 1946 - November 27, 2023

Dr. Fran Foreman Fuller, age 77, of Lansing passed away Monday, November 27, 2023 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Dr. Fuller was born in Ashe County on June 27, 1946 to the late Kenneth Joseph Foreman, Jr. and Chicky Foreman.

She worked as a professor and retired from University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Fran was a member of Phoenix Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Dr. Fuller is survived by her husband, of 22 years of marriage, Fred Fuller; two brothers, Sam Foreman of Mississippi and Joseph Foreman of Black Mountain; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Eula Poe Fuller Obituary

Mrs. Eula Mae Poe Fuller, age 96 of Lansing, formally of Alabama passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2020 at Margate Health and Rehab.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Kirk Funeral Home in Marion, Alabama.

Eula was born in Perry County, Alabama to the late Noah and Ollie Curry Poe.

She is survived by her son; Fred Fuller of Lansing, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Crushing news, suspected he had left us but held out hope he was adjusting to widowhood and processing grief.

He was my soul librarian long lost cousin. We did some mutual digging into his Alabama roots and concluded we had very distant ties to Fosters Alabama. All roads lead back to western NC, the southern cradle of the colonists as Boston is to the northern 13 colonies.

I knew something was desperately off losing his two most beloveds on earth. Also watching the mil brass go woke, DEI, suicide rates among vets and finally the Fentanyl and gang infiltration into Fayetteville just depleted him emotionally. Watching it all crumble, years of training recruits there. He expressed great disgust in his emails over it. ((DOZ))

Such a wealth of knowledge, a born reference desk Librarian and we all miss his many links he shared. He turned me onto Western Rifle Shooters blog and that was a Godsend. For the late Doz, Mrs. Doz and Momma Doz. Hold the high ground for us till we git there

His beloved mother whom he fought medical staff like a tiger to keep her unvaxxed thru Covid. His maternal side were Curry folk and they were all splendid Scouts/Rangers in the Revolution.
