I adore this guy. He has a video on the Highlander bushcraft kit which is good too.
Do you like barefoot running? Apparently the Scots went barefoot frequently, even in cold weather, but they made simple shoes too - no buckles, just a drawstring sewn around the edge of a piece of rawhide. I wear old nylon socks for *barefoot* running. If the local thrift opens up, I'll look for a cheap leather jacket (usually about $5) to make some shoes.
