Food dehydrated asparagus

I have a surplus of asparagus in the garden this year. I have found directions for dehydrating asparagus, but I'm wondering if it is worth the effort.
Anyone have any first-hand experience with using dehydrated asparagus? I picture using it in something like a casserole, not eating it on its own.

Depends on the quality of the asparagus being dried. You can sometimes salvage oversize asparagus that has gotten a little tough or long in the tooth if you are cooking it fresh. I haven't had similar luck after it has been dried. Young and tender is usually the best way to go if you are drying it. I can't remember if we blanched it or not. Been a while since I've done it and it was only in small batches as I tend to only use it from fresh or canned.

It works. But not as good as taking fresh home grown asparagus and rapping them up with bacon, and frying them up.

:D

Now I wonder about dehydrating bacon rapped asparagus....
