ENER Cost to Remove/Reinstall Solar Panels

GenEric,

I obviously know nothing about the layout of your property, but if it's possible, have you considered removing your roof-mounted solar panels and installing them on a ground-based setup?

We have more solar panels that we want to permanently install, but because of all the problems noted in this thread we don't want to install them on the roof. I'm considering making some ground mounts for them with treated 4x4s and 4x6s. Obviously, the Sun won't care if they're ten feet lower and ground mounting will make them soooo much easier to work on.

We are out in the country and the birds and pollens/red dirt make a huge mess on our panels. I need to clean them often. Could not imagine doing that in my 70s on the roof. Even in my late 50s I'm not as good as I once was at acrobatics, and repelling with out a rope.

:D

Best to yous!
