I am not usually one to like "war" scenes but these are great!!! I'm enjoying them immensely. Can't wait to find out "FOR SURE" who is behind the huge attacking force!

from these two chapters it seems that the "swing" is actually closer to the Island of manhatten than I thought. Since Luke was going south ...but I thought the swing was west of manhatten? Guess this gives me an excuse to reread.... lol!

thank you so much!!!

Freedale is appx 60 miles SOUTH of Manhattan. (If you really wanted to reference, consider the cities to be Freehold and Lakehurst in NJ.) but since the turning, the shoreline is located closer to them, probably along the garden state parkway line. (and yeah, every place in the story is some conglomeration of town names in that area)(and the amusement park is six flags great adventure just to the west there below hwy 195 (which is essentially 'the line')) (and the iron under those pines provided most of the weapons for the American revolution.)

I grew up in that swing zone there... :P

Great chapter thank you, hope Colt realizes how much Mia cares for him the dolt. Same for her brother and Grace.

The sequel is close to done...for the moment...since I only had an outline up to this upcoming chapter and I'm at a loss where to go after I wrap this. Unless anyone has ideas, requests, completely off the wall plot themes or pairings..new characters or something...I will retire again for awhile after this weekend.

:P

You've brought them to a truce in a very face saving way. Smooth out Kate and Daniel and everybody gets to live happily ever after until, or if you decide to stir things up again.

Whether you continue or stop here it's been a great read. Thank you for sharing it with us.

If I had some plots or ideas in mind I'd do it, because the characters are fun, but my brain has just grown completely void of any useful content after this. I am pressing myself to get this final chapter (which is actually two chapters) done just so I can step back from it and maybe come up with something new.

With art sometimes you can look at something for so long that you can't see it anymore. Stepping away for awhile is often a necessary part of the process.

Rest up, recharge and see where it goes from here. It's been a great read. Thank you.

Thank you for the 2 new chapters, OH gads don't tell me Mia is going to be an idiot concerning Colt and not tell him what she did and why.

I actually have to keep track of who does and doesn't have mind reading capabilities and about where any rock hugger's power levels are at any given moment...because weird stuff like that matters. Anyhow, I thought I could finish this off in two chapters, but now I have no clue why I thought that, because I'm still at least five or so chapters from done. :P

(These characters are such a pain in the ass...anytime I try to conclude something, one of them has to go blurting out something someone doesn't know and more drama always ensues...*sigh*)

Well, I've caught up with you Kritter and, dangit, now I'll have to check a couple of times a day to see if you've added another chapter! lol. Yep, I'm hooked. Great story!
Enjoy your time off but hurry back! Just kidding...I know it must be hard to put a good book together. I wouldn't even be able to make the first chapter!

gee. such a sad ending to a story.
but, I guess if mia isn't ready to grow up and start a family but colt is, that it's time for them to move on without each other.
seems to me colt was always the "adult" in that relationship. he had responsibilities and mia just wanted to have fun. those two things don't mix well.
this chick kate(?) sure does get around the guys in that area doesn't she? geesh. as much as it's been used, you'd think it would be able to hold a baby intact for nine months. LOL I know, meow. lol
oh well.
time to move on to another story somewhere else.
Thanx for all the hard work kritter! you sure do have a talent

Thank you Gen. And yeah, Mia is easily frazzled to start with and being the center of drama city certainly wore on her. I think she was in some form of stress or distress during 85% of this sequel, (Poor thing), and Colt knew he responsible for at least part of that.

I left the story open ended. Obviously there's plenty more that can be played with. Hopefully, eventually, I'll come up with more plot and content. And of course, in the future, it's always possible they'll manage to re-find each other. I like to think that anyhow. ;P

Thanks for reading and commenting. The pleasure has been mine, as always.

Excellent Kritter. It is a sad end but it's not a bad ending. Great job and I too thank you for all the hard work you've put into this story, I sure have enjoyed it.

I almost hate to post it in this stories comments as I have noticed it in many other stories.

What is with all the eye rolling? I only see it in 12 year old girls and thats seldom. Seems like out of the past 15 stories I have read at least 3 of them had eye rolling in every chapter at least. Like some strange pool game with body parts. Is it me? Do I hang with a very odd crowd that does not do that? Is it a yankee thing? I am pretty aware of folks body language and I just do not see it in the real world.

I'm not picking on you Kritter as I thought you did a very interesting story. But one I read somewhere 2 weeks ago (not on TB2K I don't think) had it all over the book. Is this a lot more common in real life than I encounter? I'll admit I do not deal much with children under 21 so that may be it.

Sorry to ask this here Kritter but I did not want to start a whole thread on some obscure thing that I may be the only one that notices. I am not really directing it to you Kritter but to the folks reading the stories here

I like Sci-Fi and patriot type stories and this is a great place to find them! Anyone have another source of the same type stories in another location? I was really looking forward to reading Sulpher Springs again as it has been 10+ years since I first read it and I can't find the completed story anywhere now.

Keep up the good work Kritter and don't feel like I'm targeting you.

Sadly, I have removed Swing and Swing Zone II from our site, but for a very good reason. Kritter asked me to due to the publication of Swing Zone. :)

Kritter is publishing them? Congrats Kritter! Both are very good stories. Please inform us when they are in print so I can buy a copy.

Actually, the publisher is Grit City and it will be an illustrated serialized fiction, but it's only just gone under contract this morning and they have a very unique editing process (due to the way the books are done there) so it'll be awhile..but I will most certainly inform everyone when it's available, as well as run around screaming and drinking heavily. :)

Wait! What?
Hi Kritter. Here I go digging up another of your old threads.
I just finished The Swing. Is Swing Zone 2 posted anywhere on the interwebs?
Thank you!

Wow, Um...I don't think so. But I still have it as a doc file on my computer if you'd like me to send you a copy. Just PM me your email address. It'll open with Office or any free doc file reader. :)
