We have a cherry tree that we planted in spring of 2018. I was expecting it to fruit this year.
In the spring, it developed buds and was just beginning to leaf out when it stopped. We had a freeze in that time period, but my other fruit trees are fine.
Since then, new little shoots have come up from the base of the trunk. But the whole upper portion looks dead/dormant.
Could this tree have gone dormant or did it die? Any thoughts?
