On Thursday, another House Republican, Congressman Jake LaTurner (R-KS), announced he would not be running for another term in Congress. The announcement is yet another lawmaker who has decided to abandon ship in recent months, with other notable Republicans deciding to either retire from Congress or resign amid the intra-caucus turmoil.
"I will proudly serve the remainder of the 118th Congress, but after much prayer and consideration, I will not seek reelection this Fall," LaTurner, who represents a reliably Republican district, said in a statement. "The people of Kansas who elected me to serve in the United States House of Representatives have given me the professional honor of my life, but it is time to pursue other opportunities and have the benefit of spending more time with my family."

LaTurner joins several House Republicans who are leaving Congres either during or after this session concludes. Reps. Ken Buck (R-CO) and Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) both left Congress before their terms ended, and Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) is expected to resign this week. Several other House Republicans have also said they will retire at the end of this Congress, including Reps. Michael Burgess (R-TX), Kelly Armstrong (R-ND), Dan Bishop (R-NC), and others.

Betcha he was a swamp creature one who voted to reinstate FISA
Yes, he voted against requiring a warrant to spy on Americans.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House voted Friday to reauthorize and reform a key U.S. government surveillance tool following a dramatic showdown on the floor over whether the FBI should be restricted from using the program to search for Americans’ data. Two Kansas lawmakers, second district Congressman Jake LaTurner and fourth district Congressman Ron Estes voted against requiring a warrant to spy on Americans.

The bill was approved on a bipartisan basis, 273-147, though it will have to clear the Senate to become law. The surveillance program is set to expire April 19 unless Congress acts.

So there's a good chance he may not win reelection so why not leave while he's in good standing. He gets a paycheck and free healthcare for life, and also the insider trading deals... so why not leave while the gettin is good!

If Trump gets in, he will have to declare martial law to get anything done. That's the good news.
The bad news is that Trump will declare martial law and operate a monarchy and bequeath the kingdom to an evil master. The trade-off will be an unbearable deal with an unimaginable end game. Before all this, I think there will be an uprising of the people but it won't be like 1776. Consider all the revolutions in human history and blend them together. Now add in a horde of Mongols attacking from one side, swarms of zulus on another, suicide bombers from a third, and it gets worse from there.

Yea. Was told get in line or else. Other opportunities mean he and his family can continue to breath air and drink water. Stronger man than Speaker Johnson.
