Thanks to social media and liberal judges not prosecuting crimes, normal, descent people do feel a sense of protected anonymity and freedom from accountability so that they become criminals.

The idea that he is a Democrat and does not own guns is not a good assumption..

I've met quite a number of lib dems who owned guns; they just didn't believe that others should own guns.

eta for clarity: they didn't think that others should have the Right, or ability, or availability to own guns. They just knew they themselves were 'Special', and other's were not trustworthy.

The video I'd pay to see is when he gets out of cells and is home w/ his wife.

Yeah; I'll bet that was epic.
You can tell by her body language that this isn't her first rodeo in dealing with this level of bull-headed stupidity from her hubby.

I could see from her arms-akimbo stance that even before it was explained to her she was staring at him thinking, "What have you done NOW?!?"

Several things to note with this episode:

The idiot perp probably won't get a felony behind this. Assuming that he doesn't have any priors and assuming he hires a good attorney, the charge will probably be pled down to a misdemeanor, but he'll doubtless have to pay a hefty fine and damages to the victim. Between that and the lawyer's fees, this will not be a light affair for him.

Everyone reading this should understand that we well and truly live in a surveillance society now. The perp in this story was caught because he was captured on a camera at the supermarket. Every urban area of the country - and even many small towns - is absolutely covered with cameras. It's not only commercial and government properties. The ubiquitous "Ring" and other householders security cameras have become pervasive.

You should carefully consider this if/when you are contemplating illegalities or rash decisions if you are involved in a defensive shooting or serious traffic accident. The old idea of ""leaving before the cops arrive" is becoming ever more impossible.

I'm not suggesting that our board members are of an especially criminal mindset, but there could be many practical reasons for a good citizen to want to escape an unfortunate situation before becoming entangled with law enforcement. There are countless millions of minor crimes and infractions which are not pursued by the authorities because of limited resources. Still, you must appreciate that while the cops might not vigorously pursue a small parking lot fender bender or a case of littering, they are going to majorly pursue any sort of shooting incident involving injury or death.

Live and act accordingly.

Once everyone takes the mark and becomes integrated into the global surveillance system they're building, there will be no crime. Your every movement throughout your living environment will be monitored and easily recalled years later for evidence, if needed. Every place you went, what you bought at the store, who you called, including social media. No need for guns. Criminals will have the mark too. No one goes unpunished.
