Just found out we are under a blizzard warning from Friday thru Sunday. Expecting rain, possibly large hail on Friday, and up to 18" of snow and 75mph winds on Saturday.

Think i'll put some wood back into the house for the stove, and pre position the genny.

Everyone back in the barn!!! I am so totally ready for spring.

Morning everyone! We are still here!! Not much snow overnight, more rain and a few good thunderstorms. Started snowing and blowing in earnest about 6am. Critters are all doing good, eating, drinking and generally enjoying their stay in the barn. Dogs had a good romp outside. We are warm and toasty inside, contemplating what to have for breakfast.

At 6400 feet we get some 85 mph winds a couple times in the winter.
I like it. Keeps the Kalifornians out when their stuff blows away.
Always carry a chainsaw when going to town.

Made it thru the storm with no stock loss. Hard to tell how much we actually got snow wise. Ive got patches of bare ground and drifts over my knees. Turned the horses back out but i'll leave the sheep in for now. It's actually quite warm out at the moment. Going to be a muddy mess for a while.

They did close all roads around us, so nothing is moving. Have not seen a plow since yesterday morning. We did not lose power, never even flickered, but north and west of us had losses.

Waiting to see how my local friends fared. One family had 500-ish lambs on the ground, and luckily they have a big barn to put them all in. She did say yesterday that she had to climb gates to get in as they could not open them.

As soon as the snow clears off some i'll drive the fence line to make sure no trees fell on it.
