It sounded like people began by asking about his meeting with foreign leaders on Ukraine. Biden said he didn't like to answer such questions because they never report it correctly, but he had a productive meeting and would talk about it later.

At which Doocy asked if he would talk about inflation then. Asked if it was a political liability going into the midterms.

Biden muttered something like "Yeah, it's a great asset", followed by the name he called Doocy. Not sure if the part about its being an asset was sarcasm or not.

Thank you for explaining. I don't care what names Trump called people, what Biden just did was bizarre. There was no good reason for him to have said what he said, it does nothing but maybe (maybe) rally up the deepest end of his base, but otherwise it looks like he can't control himself. The pressure is getting to him.

Here's Doocy telling his side of the story on Fox's "The Five". Pretty much follows the above descriptions. Doocy says he didn't even hear what Biden said at first. In context, the press availability was intended to discuss an economic meeting, so Doocy points out that he was just asking a relevant question. Says he does not expect to be invited to the WH for an interview, and that he basically takes it all in stride.
