‘Behind Everything’: Dem Rep Concocts Conspiracy Theory About Trump Orchestrating McCarthy’s Ouster

Democratic Rep. Gregory Meeks of New York claimed Friday that former President Donald Trump and former Trump administration official Steve Bannon Republican orchestrated Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s ouster as speaker of the House.

Eight Republicans voted with 208 Democrats in support of a motion to vacate the chair introduced by Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida, subsequently removing McCarthy from the speakership Tuesday. Trump endorsed Republican Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio to become speaker early Friday morning in a post on Truth Social.

“What we are finding out now and listening to now, that this is the party of Donald Trump, and that Donald Trump and Bannon were behind everything in regards to the removal — the Republicans’ decision to remove their own speaker,” Meeks told “CNN News Central” co-host John Berman. “That’s who did this.”

Gaetz appeared on Bannon’s talk show “War Room” Tuesday with Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina, one of the Republicans who backed the motion to vacate, where Bannon jabbed at the congresswoman for supporting a motion to hold him in contempt of Congress.

“They’re dysfunctional,” Meeks continued. “I’m concerned about them continuing no matter who the speaker is, to be quite frank, in that regard, if they continue to do the same thing that McCarthy did time after time, cater to the MAGA Republican extremists.”

Jordan and Republican Reps. Steve Scalise of Louisiana and Kevin Hern of Oklahoma pulled out of a forum that was to air on Fox News Monday.

Neither Gaetz nor Meeks immediately responded to a request for comment.

I'm going to lean more towards McCarthy did jack and sh*t and Jack left town a long time ago. He talked a good game but zero follow up on anything. Smelled like a RINO to me. But, that's just my humble opinion and as we all know, everyone has opinions and dirty socks, both can smell really bad.

McCarthy never released the Jan 6th tapes that he said he would just for starters! I hated to see him get that position to begin with as I knew he was a damn snake.

So explain how 208 Democrats aligned themselves with Trump and voted for the removal?

I thought Democrats were "against" Trump?

Or maybe the Democrats voted for the removal since it improves Trump's position going into the Primary cycle?

And EVERYONE knows that Trump may win the primary but will NEVER WIN the 2024 Election.

And - this may be true if its not an election.

What if they held an election and everyone was locked out of the building?

Or there was paper covering the windows of the "count observers?"

Or mail-in ballots are received from non-existent voters?

Or the machines are proven "hacked" by 19 servers located in Mainland China?

Or a water pipe burst.

Or Ruby Freeman just happened to 2nd time count already counted ballots?

Americans get the "election" they deserve...

To enlist the majority of democrats to vote out McCarthy, when retaining him is far better (for democrats), makes no sense. It's as though the democrats 'self-destructed'.

Were they all thinking it would create chaos in the republican ranks? Could be.

Would they have anticipated a replacement speaker such as Jim Jordan? Probably not. (Because Jordan had previously declined running for it)

I'm perplexed that democrats would vote against the interests of the deep state; but that's what has happened (or so it seems).

My earlier thought is they want to sew discord among the Republican Ranks. But this flies in the face of the "Uniparty."

They may indeed wish for Trumpism to "get a leg up" prior to the Primary. But its not like they have to try - every time another Indictment occurs, Trump's standing goes up. And - listening to their echo chamber "There is no way Trump can win in the general election."

Which there may not be given the "slow walking nationwide" in election reform.

Meanwhile 19 defendants exist on Trump's side who have been charged with "various" crimes. Including 16 "fake electors" who were named "alternate" electors under state law and were standing idly by waiting for their charge from the State Legislature. The cases of all are "pending."

As in - "slow walk to the Courthouse."

It could be a simpler explanation. Mccarthy broke promises on both sides and had not intentions of fulfilling what was promised to get him in his role...
