Pests/Ctrl BAY LEAVES LONG for TERM FOOD STORAGE

We use bay leaves in our long-term FOOD STORAGE, and it is time to get more leaves.​

I would like to know if any you have bay leave trees?​

We would like to by some.​

Good post! I use them a lot as well, but either the stores are out of them or they’re really pricey

I just don’t recall spices like bay leaves, thyme leaves and dill ever being SUCH an issue until recently

We had a small bay leaf tree, but it died in the big Texas Freeze. I had not replaced it because bay leaves were/are abundant at HEB stores. Looks like I should go buy another start and get it growing.

I have a big jar of leaves from my MIL’s tree. Sadly, she also lost hers in the big Texas freeze.

I'm thinking about grabbing a bag of them from the store and vacuum sealing them in a pint mason jar. I use them in most of the bean, chili, and stew recipes that we eat (all from the crockpot).

I've got lots of bay laurel trees growing wild on the property. I believe this type of bay is more potent than regular bay.

I’ve had good luck finding bulk bags of bay leaves in the Mexican food section of the grocery, there’s a brand I can’t recall, usually has its own free standing rack.

We are loosing the battle to ants. This drought and triple digits fir 25 days. I cant keep them out.
Even nest up in bed covers during g the day while I am at work.
