Barack Obama’s Bucket Brigade

Now that Democrats have finally finished pleasuring themselves, perhaps we can all come back down to Earth for just a moment and face reality. There’s a lot of tough work ahead and Barack Obama is woefully unprepared for the task at hand. Although he won the election, he also laid bare his innumerable weaknesses and set his own expectations so incredibly high, he may never live up to them.

Notwithstanding lightweights Mike Huckabee, Bill O’Reilly and Elisabeth Hasselbeck sipping Obama’s Kool-Aid when no one was looking and liking it, true conservatives do not compromise their principles, which is the primary reason Republicans have been spanked repeatedly and are now paying the price.

Regardless of how many in the journalistic elite felt that tingle up their leg at the thought of an Obama Presidency; no matter how many first-time voters expressed their scholarly opinions that he is indeed “The One”; no matter how many so-called conservative pundits blindly get in line like sheep to the slaughterhouse and express their full support for Obama, his election changes nothing.

He mocked and belittled my values numerous times during his campaign. While pledging to unite us, Obama instead ignited a class war, portraying those who uphold conservative values as stupid, uncouth, bigoted Neanderthals. Portraying those making over $200,000.00 a year as greedy snobs.

He is a threat to the First Amendment. He’ll destroy conservative talk radio and freedom of speech through re-implementation of the Fairness Doctrine under some other name. Because liberals stake out issue positions based on emotion versus fact, the liberal talk radio format cannot survive debate and thus must be afforded Affirmative Action.

He is a threat to the Second Amendment which guarantees my right to self defense in my own home. Gun owners across the country are buying up guns and ammunition like there’s no tomorrow because they simply don’t trust Mr. Obama to uphold their rights.

He is a threat to our economy. He promised one trillion dollars in new spending. He spoke of dismantling federal programs that don’t work. When asked which of his spending programs would be curtailed in the current climate, he was noncommittal. When asked which federal programs may be cut, he wouldn’t answer.

Obama’s economic rescue plan involves drastic increases in that all-time favorite of liberal pastimes, self-stimulation. While not answering directly where the money for the next round of Obama’s stimulus checks will come from, Obama obliquely hinted at tax increases. In addition to all of the economic issues he’s facing, the auto industry has their empty hand out once again asking for billions more to fund the union’s pension plans.

How Obama Will Govern
• He hired a truth squad of prosecutors to intimidate and suppress opposing opinions during his campaign. He verbally threatened to bankrupt the coal industry and any other dirty industries.
• He still won’t release innocuous documents from his Illinois Senate days such as memos and calendars.
• He threw reporters who endorsed John McCain off of his airplane in the final days of the campaign.
• His birth certificate remains under seal, despite the mounting number of lawsuits calling on him to satisfy persistent questions over his US citizenship; lawsuits described as “garbage” that could certainly be avoided if he would simply unseal and release the documents sought by those suing him.
• While carping about change and the negative tone of politics, he hired former Clinton artifacts John Podesta and Rahm Emmanuel, one of the most bitter of all political partisans. He is relying far too heavily on ex-Clinton people to help him lead.

There is not one shred of evidence to suggest that Barack Obama will lead by consensus or govern from the center. In fact overwhelming evidence points to a hardball Obama Administration bent on socialist wealth distribution, an accusation dismissed by Obama as an illegitimate line of questioning, but the Communist Party USA begs to differ.

When I was a young boy and I would do stupid things as young boys do, or I began to succumb to peer pressure, my mother’s sarcasm always had a way of bringing back reality. When I got caught, she would ask dryly: “If Billy wanted to stick his head in a bucket of s**t, does that mean you should do it too?" I don’t care if the entire world falls in love with Barack Obama. He is still an unknown quantity and because of what he has demonstrated thus far, he will have to earn my trust before I merrily join his bucket brigade. His biggest liability is what he now owes in the minds of the various interests that helped get elected. He will face enormous pressures to act on their behalf with tax cuts, pork programs, further bailouts or economic stimuli. I can only hope he resists those pressures, but we’ll have to wait and see.

What’s that smell, O’Reilly?
