27th-28th Sow grains and forage crops. Plant flowers. Favorable for planting peas, beans, tomatoes, and other fall crops bearing aboveground.
29th-31st Start seedbeds. Extra good for fall cabbage, lettuce, cauliflower, mustard greens, and other leafy vegetables. Good for any aboveground crop that can be planted now.

August 2017
1st-2nd Cut winter wood, do clearing and plowing, but no planting.

3rd-5th A good time to plant aboveground crops.

6th-7th Barren days, fine for killing plant pests.

8th-10th Excellent for any vine crops such as beans, peas, and cucumbers. Good days for transplanting. Favorable days for planting root crops.

11th-12th Neither plant nor sow on these barren days.

13th-14th Good days for transplanting. Root crops that can be planted now will yield well.

15th-16th Any seed planted now will tend to rot.

17th-18th Plant seedbeds and flower gardens. Good days for transplanting. Most favorable days for planting beets, onions, turnips, and other root crops.

19th-22nd Best for killing weeds, briars, poison ivy, and other plant pests. Clear wood lots and fencerows.

23rd-25th Excellent for sowing grains, winter wheat, oats, and rye. Plant flowers. Good days for planting aboveground crops.

26th-27th Plant seedbeds. Plant peas, beans, tomatoes, peppers, and other aboveground crops in southern Florida, California, and Texas. Extra good for leafy vegetables.

28th-30th Cut winter wood, do clearing and plowing, but no planting.

31st A good time to plant aboveground crops.

September 2017
1st Any aboveground crops that can be planted now will do well.
2nd-4th Poor planting days. Kill plant pests.
5th-6th Extra good for vine crops. First day is a favorable day for planting aboveground crops. Second day is a good day for transplanting. Second day is also a good day for planting root crops.
7th-8th A poor time to plant.
9th-10th Good days for transplanting. Good days for planting root crops.
11th-12th Seeds planted now tend to rot in ground.
13th-14th Plant seedbeds and flower gardens. Good days for transplanting. Fine planting days for fall potatoes, turnips, onions, carrots, beets, and other root crops.
15th-19th Clear ground, turn sod, or kill plant pests.
20th-21st Excellent for sowing grains, hay, and forage crops. Plant flowers. Good days for planting peas, beans, tomatoes, peppers, and other aboveground crops in southern Florida, Texas, and California.
22nd-24th Start seedbeds. Excellent time for planting aboveground crops that can be planted now, including leafy vegetables which will do well.
