Anonymous declares cyber war on Donald Trump
By Cory Bennett - 03/15/16 09:32 AM EDT

The hacking group Anonymous is urging its followers to launch a barrage of cyberattacks on April 1 to take down Donald Trump’s websites and expose the “appalling” GOP presidential candidate.

“We need you to shut down his websites, research and expose what he doesn’t want the public to know,” a person wearing the group’s trademark Guy Fawkes mask says in a video posted by to an Anonymous YouTube channel. “We need you to dismantle his campaign and sabotage his brand.”

n a separate written statement, Anonymous encouraged hackers to target the business mogul’s websites, including donaldjtrump.com, trump.com and trumphotelcollection.com.

Anonymous also released Trump’s alleged personal details, such as his cellphone number and Social Security number, to help hackers harass the Republican presidential front-runner.

“Dear Donald Trump, we have been watching you for a long time, and what we see is deeply disturbing,” the video says. “You have shocked the entire planet with your appalling actions and ideals.”

“You say what your current audience wants to hear, but in reality you don’t stand for anything except your personal greed and power,” it adds.

Anonymous, an anarchist activist group, initially declared digital war on the Republican presidential front-runner last December after Trump proposed to ban all Muslims from entering the U.S.

But the declaration never made much of an impact.

In the new video posted recently, Anonymous claims that “loyalists and veterans” of the group had decided to relaunch the cyber war “on a larger scale."

“This is a call to arms,” the video says. “This is a call to protect our future, our freedom and our very way of life.”

In the last year, Anonymous has waged a number of high-profile cyber campaigns against groups such as the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria and the Ku Klux Klan.

While the group has taken credit for exposing KKK members and eradicating thousands of ISIS-related Twitter accounts, many have criticized the group for over-promising and leaking inaccurate information.

But the group insisted Operation Trump, or #OpTrump, is “important” given Trump’s “disturbing” policy positions.

“This is not a warning, this is a declaration of total war,” the video says. “Operation Trump engaged.”

The hacker collective known as Anonymous says it has declared “total war”
on Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump.

In a video released March 4, the shadowy group said his campaign for
the U.S. presidency was “deeply disturbing.”

“Your inconsistent and hateful campaign has not only shocked the United
States of America, you have shocked the entire planet with your appalling
actions and ideas,” said a masked man with a robotic voice. “You don’t
stand for anything except for your personal greed and power.
This is a call to arms.”

The group is calling the campaign against the real estate mogul
#OpTrump, saying it will begin on April 1, which is April Fool's Day in the
United States.

In another post, the group said the operation would include denial of
service attacks on several Trump-related websites, including Trump’s main
site, DonaldJTrump.com. The post also included what Anonymous says is
some of Trump’s personal information.

Anonymous has hacked Trump before.

Last December, in the wake of Trump's call for a ban on Muslims entering
the U.S., the group crashed the Trump Tower New York website and leaked
voicemails, reported the Telegraph newspaper.

The April 1 effort, the group said, will be much bigger.

"We need you to... research and expose what he doesn’t want the public to
know, we need you to dismantle his camp and sabotage his brand,"
Anonymous said.

There was no immediate comment from the Trump campaign.

Anonymous Declares Total War
on Republican Front-runner Donald Trump… Again

22:31 15.03.2016(updated 22:41 15.03.2016)
http://sputniknews.com/politics/20160315/1036354545/anonymous-declares-total-war-on-trump-again.html

The group declared war on Trump in December 2015, to no effect
as the Republican frontrunner looks to secure the nomination today.

On March 4, the loose-knit hacktivist organization Anonymous declared
“total war” on Donald Trump, calling on hackers around the world to shut
down the Republican front-runner’s websites and “investigate and expose
what he doesn’t want the world to know.” The organization said their
objective in engaging in online war with Trump is “to dismantle his
campaign and sabotage his brand.”

The opening narration of the video states “Dear Donald Trump, we have
been watching you for a long time, and what we see is deeply disturbing.”
The video then breaks away to a series of uncouth statements by the real
estate mogul, including those regarding Megyn Kelly, mocking a disabled
reporter, and sexual comments about his daughter, Ivanka.

The Anonymous “call to arms” invites anyone with a computer to spread
the word and/or participate in “Operation Trump” or “#OpTrump.” The
video closes with an invitation for “everyone to target” the website for the
candidate’s luxury hotel in Chicago, trumpchicago.com, on April 1.

Officials are unable to confirm attribution to the cyber activist group
because the video was posted from a different YouTube channel than
previous Anonymous releases. However, a well-known Twitter account
traced to the group — @YourAnonNews – has frequently posted anti-Trump
messages since the release of the video.

This isn’t the first time that the hacktivist group has called for the takedown
of the Republican front-runner on the basis of the candidate’s xenophobic,
racist, and misogynistic statements. In December 2015, Anonymous
declared war on Trump to no discernible effect, as the candidate’s poll
numbers and support rose shortly thereafter.
