GOV/MIL Air Force goofed. For EVERYBODY?Supposed to subtract 1/3 of my DIC from surviv. benefits and pay me the rest...

But they took 2/3 (not 1/3 of my DIC) of my DIC entitlement and subtracted it from my Survivors Benefits leaving me very little. ($125.56) I am SUPPOSED TO GET ($604.78)!!

If they did that to everyone (and I suspect THEY DID) there's gonna be a roar go up from the retired folks.
These folks they are hiring for govt service can't even read or do 4th grade arithmetic!

Here's what the rule says:

In 2020 Congress made changes to the Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) that will eventually eliminate the SBP-DIC offset, which is a reduction of SBP (insurance policy on retired pay payout) for surviving spouses who also receive Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) (a payment to widows of 100% disabled vets) from the VA.

The second phase begins on January 1, 2022. In 2022, surviving spouse SBP annuity payments issued by DFAS will be reduced by NO MORE THAN ONE THIRD OF THE AMOUNT OF DIC (ISSUED BY THE VA). Eligible surviving spouses will continue to receive the full amount of DIC from the VA. This change in the law does not affect VA payments.

This of course is assuming that they DIDN'T raise my DIC by more than $1,500 without telling me. And, I am SURE they didn't!

I discovered it too late to call them, so ill call them tomorrow, but I bet thousands
of angry Vets will be calling them, if they made the same mistake in their DFAS PAY.
I hope I can get through on the phone!

They absolutely goofed. Probably on ALL women getting DIC AND SBP.
They again took 2/3 of our DIC from SBP which was the policy for last year.
In 2022 it is supposed to be 1/3.
I can't get througjh to DFAS.
I am not surprised.
Lots of angry people.
