I received this in email a couple of days ago, so no link...

We Are Closing Our Account On Patreon

Patreon is a monthly donation site that we have used since September of 2015. I am surprised we lasted this long as many others were kicked off Patreon in the last couple of years.

This worked well for Grrrgraphics and we had many good folks supporting us every month, we appreciate your loyalty and support over the years.

But now the tyranny and censorship is at an insane level. Patreon recently changed their terms of service to include "Covid misinformation" which means you can not question the CDC, NIH narrative about the vaccines or other forms of treatment of the wu-flu.

I received an email from Patreon’s "Trust and Safety" department asking us to not only delete our cartoons on the Plannedemic on Patreon's platform, but also asking us to delete the same cartoons on our website grrrgraphics.com because we "fund" it through Patreon.

Um, no you vax tyrants, we will NOT be deleting ANY content especially on the website - Patreon, you have no right to censor our website.

See email below…what nerve!

The amount we make on Patreon is insignificant compared to what they want, censorship of our site. It’s time to say EFF you Patreon and close our account. This is a line in the sand we will not cross. It’s been fun Patreon- we will miss our friends and supporters on the site, but you can still support us with a monthly reoccurring donation at our Subscribe Star page.

We will be shutting down the Patreon account in a couple days, once again thank you for support over the years. Please stay in touch and let us know your thoughts, send us an email at info@grrrgraphics.com

Thank you!

Political cartoons and satire have been a feature and mainstay of editorial pages in print newspapers since the late 18th century and continue their popularity into the age of online news formats. It wasn't very long ago that every major city newspaper had at least one cartoonist on staff, some had a main one and a part-timer. Many smaller cities and towns featured local freelancers and/or used a syndication service.

Things have changed, though. As readership and subscriptions to print newspapers dwindled over the past several decades, newspapers began firing their permanent editorial staff, including their staff cartoonists. The artists many times were syndicated or quickly became so, so their cartoons still could (and many times, did) appear in the paper just like they always did, but the artist's income (including benefits) was decreased. Many took on other freelance illustration projects, etc. There are only a small handful of staff editorial cartoonists still employed as staff at newspapers now... and with rare exception, they are all flaming liberal progressives. Nasty pieces of work, routinely promoting outright lies and dragging them on for months, sometimes years.

Editorial cartoonists traditionally operated under the rarified air of somewhat relaxed censorship. Of course there were exceptions, and even some daily comic strip artists suffered censorship when they broached a "touchy" subject - almost always Christianity. Johnny Hart, the creator and artist for the cartoon strip "BC" had several of his strips (usually the larger Sunday strip) pulled from publication for that reason. "Doonesbury", which came out in the early 1970s (and didn't start out intending to have a predominately editorial bent) had strips pulled, or relegated to the editorial page due to content (usually when he was sticking it to Nixon and his crew). The adage, "A picture's worth a thousand words" mostly worked to the benefit of artists and readers both. Many times one really can get their point across with a well thought out illustration, photo, or these days, meme.

I started reading the editorial page of my hometown newspaper when I was in grade school. Yes, really! I became "hooked" on the cartoons first, but soon started reading the columns and letters to the editor. I was delighted when Dennis started the Political Cartoon thread several years ago and I'm glad many others enjoy and contribute to it.

Ben Garrison is not a syndicated cartoonist. His work is funded by his supporters on his Patreon channel and by sales of his tabletop cartoon collection books and other merchandise. He is fairly well-known to the conservative community, but in the greater scheme of things, mostly an unknown.

If pressure is being placed on him to "tone down" his offerings by Patreon, to the point where they are trying to censor him on his own website, it does not bode well for the rest of the ones who are conservative, or lean conservative and publish under a syndicate and their rules. However, the rabidly Progressive artists continue apace. :fgr:

More's the pity.

WOW!!!

I don't yet know for certain what their goals are with these damned experimental jabs, but I'm absolutely certain it has NOTHING to do with trying to prevent a virus with the same mortality rate as influenza.

And I'm truly sickened by this, as I'm afraid our "tinfoil uberwoo" thoughts about the damage these shots can cause may actually come to pass...

I wonder if they routinely screen each and every site or product for all of their customers, or did someone turn them in? It seems time and labor intensive to regularly monitor all of the accounts they must have (I think they're pretty popular, I see them referenced a lot.) I know a lot of youtubers have accounts with Patreon to earn income. Do they really watch every single minute of every single video that is a Patreon account? I somehow doubt it.

I don't think there is any need for tinfoil or woo, uber or otherwise. Other than lining the pockets of big pharma there is no good that can come from the jab.
