Weeds 30% Vinegar To Kill Weeds

Rabbit

Has No Life - Lives on TB
I got some 30% vinegar to kill weeds with. At $20. a gallon and because the fumes are really bad, I cut it in half with water. I sprayed some spring weeds in the morning and by afternoon they were crispy. I don't know if it killed the roots and I don't know the effect on the soil. It sure takes care of the weeds trying to grow on my brick patio.

Have any of you used it in the garden?

I've only used it along the edges of garden areas, like along walkways and in fence rows. I don't know how long it takes to wash out of the soil so I never use it where I'm going to plant anything.

I've only used the cheap white vinegar I get at the grocery store but it seems to work fairly well. It took three applications to kill privet seedlings. I once had a thick bunch of Bermuda grass growing out of a concrete block that could not be moved, so I poured about two cups of the vinegar into the clump of Bermuda and it was killed dead, apparently including the roots, as nothing around that block ever grew back.

I was told to use vinegar, Epson salt, and Dawn dish soap. Haven't tried it yet, but I have those stashed.

been there dun that . . . burns the tops and like - RITE NOW - but leaves the roots - in 7-10 days you'll have new (weed) growth again. never did it in the garden bc I'm certain it would acidify the soil. best thing for weed control in the garden is

early intervention
hoe
mulch - like grass clippings

YMMV - but that's been my experience
