Another week of slim pickings. Here is what I came up with:

FOOD LION--
2 pasta or rice and sauce--.69 +.50/1 coup--2/.38

ALBERTSONS--
2 18 oz Skippy peanut butter--1.50 +.35/1 coup--2/2.30
1 24 oz bottle Albertson's syrup--1.50

PUBLIX--
8 chef boy ar dee pasta--buy1/get 1 free---8/5.00
1 can evap milk-.59

HITCHCOCKS--
4 Betty Crocker cake mixes-.88 each--4/3.52
3 15 oz boxes Cheerios--1.60 ea +1.00/3 coupon--3/3.80

WALGREENS--
2 18 oz quaker oats--1/1 w/in ad coup + .50/1 coup--2/1.99
3 cans mandarin oranges--.39 w/in ad coup--3/1.17

TOTAL-$20.25

Peanut butter is a good, cheap protein. The canned pasta is a good deal and is easy to heat over a sterno stove. The Cheerios were a fabulous deal and they are my favorite cereal. You also have to have dessert, hence the cake mixes, 2 chocolate and 2 lemon would be my choices, and I don't really like my cake with frosting on it any way.

Hopefully some of you have better sales out there. What have you found so far this week?

No good sales, and nothing good on clearance yet. I'll try to get to the store early tomorrow and see if there is a produce clearance cart. I'll probably buy some more of the Chef Boy RD ravioli that's marked down. It's still .79, but it's a nice quick lunch. The sales here have been pretty pitiful for a long time. I've been dehydrating a lot of produce from the clearance cart and I made more applesauce yesterday. We only have one grocery store in town, so it's slim pickings!

I was just at Big Lots this afternoon and noticed a few good deals--it can be hit or miss there. They had a LOT of pasta at 49 cents a bag (1 lb bags), shapes, angel hair, etc. The generic stuff at the grocery store is 79 cents for the same thing. Also had a lot of soup this time around, and lots of canned tomatoes and beans. Might be worth a quick look if you have one close to you.
