You can do this Broken Arrow. You are highly intelligent and you just need to use your critical thinking skills while looking at the parts. Examine how each piece works slowly! The only way I learned is by trying. That's the way I was taught about mechanics. DF knew it's best to teach someone to explore and I ABSOLUTELY HAVE FAITH YOU CAN DO IT!

I had a Massy 44 with a dirty tank. I put an inline filter after the settling bowl. That trickle flow thru the settling bowl can be caused by tightening the bale "wire thingy" to tight and can actually warp the seal. best to let a slight drip heal itself than overtightening.

Besides back flushing the inline filter and draining the carb bowl, it was good to go.

As for putting hay out in the winter the Massy's intake would ice up when it was cold. It may have been a vacuum leak thru the casting that paint may have stopped but I just put her away for the winters. I have a truck for that, and it beats all that wind.
