To get the monkeypox vaccine in LA County, I need my personal doctor to sign an attestation form certifying, to the best of their knowledge, that yes, I am indeed gay

I’m a little horrified by this! At this point it really makes no difference anymore; treatment is treatment!
And I’m no fan of vaccines OR “certain lifestyles”!

So
It’s still predominantly a queer sexually transmitted illness
Hanging out in the Barry bathhouse again brings us another abomination plague that will eventually break out to us
Right
I got it

This…….especially that bit about shingles being a “side effect” of the “vaccine”…….and “Monkeypox” mimicking shingles in application.

A local friend even made this connection without me saying a word.

No, it's being SEEN that way largely for strategic reasons. By this point it's probably predominantly asexually transmitted - aerosol, touch, fomites.
I'm seeing 95-99% of cases sexually transmitted. see above post. what is your source for your opinion?

I still understand your point that "if" we only test one population, the numbers of positives will be far and away highest in that population.

..still I can't by the idea that all these other populations have the illness but are suffering in silence and remaining hidden due to the medical and media biases. Not with morphine level pain.

I'm also willing to accept that when resources are limited, they (in this instance the testing) should be directed where they are most needed.

As far as the #s of positives, it's absolutely meaningless to cite #s without context being provided.

I'm intrigued by the recent story of a little girl who recovered from MP after ten days in a coma. Was that induced for pain management? What kind of caregiving burden is involved in an induced coma? How many of those can a hospital support at one time? How many of these have happened?

Got no answers, just curious.

Jward, your statement right here still is what gives me pause, too. I don't think there are many out there, but the number of cases aren't zero, either. In time, it may become more widespread in the general population to the point that the media and medical communities won't be able to ignore it. I think we'll be seeing more and more of these nonsexual type cases as it continues to spread.
