Campers Always have more truck than you need when pulling a camper

Neither here nor there.
See stuff like this at least once a day in the RV groups on facespy. Camper dealers tell the soon to be new owners that their vehicles are big enough.

So sad to see that. Our truck is so much heavier than the TM. DH was driving down the CA coast about 15? years ago and some idiot swerved into our lane. I felt like we were going to wreck it all. Thank goodness the TM had good brakes!

Haven't been camping in the past couple of years. Last trip was to Mercey Hot Springs.

When I last spoke to the people who answer the phone, he told me on the phone that we could take Nacho (our cat) and keep him in the trailer and walk him on a leash but just haven't had the energy to pack it up and go. He told me that there were bobcats etc. there. What the heck? Probably have more around here than around there. Just would carry a baseball bat and bear spray when walking the cat.

I was on a major interstate doing 70. The kind of RV that you drive blew past me. It was towing a trailer with a jeep on it.

The driver lost control and ended up crossways across both lanes and both shoulders with just the RV part. At one point the jeep and trailer were waving in the air like a hand. After it was over, the jeep tires were flat. The trailer was still attached but 90 degrees from the tongue hitch. I was second in line from the wreck and praying the 50 big trucks behind me could stop. It took an hour to clear the lanes.

The important aspect of this is 'doing 70' with a conventional vehicle... not a 'tractor' designed for hauling.

I find that even when the tow vehicle is adequate, many RVers think that 75 mph is a comfortable speed for towing a travel trailer or fifth wheel.
THIS! Told my husband this a thousands times…. The reason I won’t get another rv he will not slow down when towing we never got into a wreck but Always thought he drove way too fast with the camper trailer

Just got back from Watsonville, there was a tow truck in the parking lot, and asked the guy with this huge trailer if he wanted any help. Apparently he already had read my #1 thing to get when you have an RV," Just have a sense of humor and a credit card." I hope they are on the safely on their way home. They could have stayed the night at our place out here.
