FASCISM Time to switch where I get news, etc.

Listening to Trump this evening has caused me to reconsider where and how I get my news and other info. I've already ditched Google for Duck Duck Go to remain anonymous and won't be tracked by adds and so forth.

YouTube is owned by Google so Vidmax or Rumble might be the right place to go, but not sure. I never did Twitter, and since so many have been censored, I think Gettr might be the best choice. I heard Parler was a thing for a bit but got shut down.

Anyway I'm just looking for recommendations for new places to bookmark for news and such.

Mods: some of the responses could be worrisome so move to BS or Corkboard if necessary.

Gab is far better in terms of standing against censorship than Parler ever was and which GETTR ever will be. It means that there's some offensive crap on there but you read what you want to read and chuck the rest. I like Revolver.news as well but I get as much breaking news from the people watching things here on TB2K as anywhere, actually, and tend to do my own research and analysis if something piques my interest.

I don't do TV but if I did, Faux News bit the dust long ago. Carlson is the only one left with any credibility but how much longer will he be allowed to say what he does? Gutfeld is OK as well, I guess. Hannity has gotten too big and never really was much more than a firebrand anyway.

What would make you think that Duck Duck Go cannot be a CIA, or other alphabet soup, agency?

Mebbe "incognito" mode (newer browsers offer this) can help keep "you" below radar.

Of course most computer "chips" are made in Taiwan by a business offshoot of the Communist Chinese - who are basically the "eliminators" of all independence in the world. And who is to say a "window" (hence the name) has been built into those chips or software? If the Chinese know about and look in these windows, the US government CERTAINLY can too.

You have an interesting if not experience based perspective. In the world of psyops the best lies or propaganda are 99% true or believable, which is why they are so successful. The old saying "If it looks too good to be true, then it probably is" often fits.

The points to be made are say or do nothing on a digital media you do not want some alphabet agency to know about, and use multiple sources of information in decision making. Even the best conservative sources can be duped into spreading bullshit. In today's political environment paranoia is not necessarily a mental illness, but rather a survival tool.
