POL Senators at risk of suicide/ accidental death?

WEll, well, well. Here we are, at the axis of our collective destiny's.

I had mentioned this before in comments but I think it deserves it's own thread.

With the VP as the Senate tie-breaker, and the senate split evenly, and SO MUCH BADLY NEEDED AMERICA DESTROYING LEGISLATION IN THE WORKS.... leaving the next senator selection up to chance would be...er... unforesightful.

That being said, especially after the supreme court justice getting mirked in the twilight of the obama years.. it is not implausible to think that some dark actors wouldn't make wet work attempts on Senators that could tip the scales... y'know, "for the children."

When obama was elected the governor (blacovich? went to prison trying to sell it..) got to pick his replacement.. a HAND PICKED SENATOR... I believe this is the case in many states (maybe all?) when there is a mid-session vacancy...

Who knows which states if not all the Governor picks the replacement?

Next we cross reference those with states ( if not all) that have Democratic governors and a Republican Senator or Senators.

These senators should have this in mind. Some of them probably don't. But these ones are ESPECIALLY prone to attention of bad actors. I'm fairly surprised it didn't happen earlier in the session.. but we're not out of the woods yet. Anytime our democracy is hanging on by so thin of margin the commies are sure to try 'night of the long knives' type approaches. Can you imagine if 2 or 3 were mirked or died suddenly under mysterious circumstance... yeeeeks, it would not be good...

By the way, according to Rose baby Mad Hellary tried to whack her in a road accident the other day. Sheesh, you know things are bad when Mad Hellary starts getting incompetent, especially after her historical kill rate.

Chronic Clintonitis is frequently undiagnosed, and usually fatal. Symptoms include shooting yourself in the back of the head several times, having your head severed by train wheels, and drowning in the shower due to multiple stab wounds. Doctors also advise against driving or flying when suffering from Clintonitis.

States have different rules about appointing a replacement and who approves it wether it's the governor or state house.
But I don't believe any of them can switch the seat to a different party.

Can anyone confirm or deny if this is true? Probably varies from state to state unless specifically outlined in the US constitution on how to replace a senator.. otherwise maybe in each individual state constitution.

Can anyone remember it happening in their lifetime? Blagoyavitch replaced 0bam but they were both Dem... anywhere else this has happened and the govt switched the seat? Or there's a run off that MAY favor the Dems?

With the new Matt Geatz assasination thread, and the antonin scalia scandle... Just seems at this point the commies will do anything and have PENTY of GOONS and bottom of the barrel lifeforms to call on. Praying hard (cosmic energy, not diety) for Trump that he's got all the layers of security he needs. Seems like he would be the golden goose and if he is lost, so goes the nation, and also, probably goes kinetic shortly after when patriots see the war is ALREADY 'hot.'

The numbers have been amazingly stable for the past year, with control of the Senate sitting on a razor's edge. A lot of these guys, on BOTH sides, are seriously old farts, haven't lead a very virtuous (clean) life, and any of them are one disclosure/slip-up away from some kind of stinky scandal that could prompt a resignation.

Thing is, the majority of governorships sit in the hands of the Republicans, an appointment could tip the scales in the Senate that way if somebody needs to be temporarily replaced.

I think they can in several states.

If the governor of Illinois needs to replace a Federal Senator during their elected he can appoint anyone he likes with no approval from anyone else. Blogo went to prison for trying to sell obama's seat to the highest bidder, but he could appoint anyone he wanted. It was the bribery that got him.
