So, the test was performed. Some did not receive either a text message or email.

IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE A TEXT MESSAGE:

As part of your phone number, we need to know what carrier you use. This is so we can properly route the message to you. If you kept your phone number BUT CHANGED CARRIERS, you will not receive text messages until you update your carrier info.

IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE AN EMAIL:

Check your SPAM or JUNK folders. You’ll want to whitelist the sending email address with your email service.

@Green Co. is our EAS Coordinator. PM him for any issues you have. (And for you new folks, if you want to sign up, he’s the guy to talk to.)

NOTE: Just being a member of this forum DOES NOT ENROLL YOU IN OUR EAS SYSTEM. You have to ask to be enrolled.

I don’t think so. World-wide should be able to take advantage of it.

Email definitely. Phone will if we have your carrier in the database.

Folks, it's been talked about in many places, some as recent as today. When you want to be added or edited, PLEASE include all information asked for.

1. Name. first only will work
2. state of residence
3. cell phone number, up to three
4. service provider for the cell phones
5. email, up to three

Out of a dozen requests I receive, at least nine do not have these requirements. Then I have to message back, sometimes get a partial, then another message. What can be done in 10 minutes ends up taking an hour.

I only got the text b/c I had to change my email addy since I last registered for EAS Alerts. But I can't figure out how to Private Message GreenCo.

I just changed my email on my profile. Is that enough to get the next EAS Alert email, or do I need to PM GreenCo with my new email addy and the other info on the 5-item list? Please advise. Thanks!

Looks like I don't even know how to send a PM. Is that the same as "start a conversation"? I couldn't find anything that looks like an envelope.

“Start a new conversation” is a PM.

You (and many others) need to spend a half hour and learn the major functions of the new software.

Further, in this software, if you have an issue, you need to also provide info as to what device you’re using (i.e. phone (portrait or landscape orientation), tablet (portrait or landscape orientation) or PC.)

Sorry but what time did this test go out yesterday? Was it two "alerts" about 3 minutes apart around 11:30 am MDT? My phone squawked twice then but no texts or emails so not sure if we are talking about the same system test. Thank you from up North of 49.

I just found, dusted off and charged my iPhone 3 and sure enough I did get this alert.

That was the information I needed.

ETA: Don't know why--but this thread did NOT come up in a general search on "EAS." I only found it because of a link given on a thread I started asking about it.

Dennis, I'm sorry I get on your nerves so much. I am not sure why my requests for information and help irritate you so, but when it comes to my doing so it makes you just want to :smashblue:

I'm just a farmer's daughter (no long fingernails, thank you--digging in the dirt, driving tractors, and pruning fruit trees kind of prevents that) and former teacher. IT is not my specialty, I admit. I do admire folks like yourself who are good at it.

You know why it irritated me? Because you’re either lazy, ignorant, or unable to use software. I’m betting it’s the first one. And that pisses me off.

Should I come to your place and wipe your butt for you too? That’s what I used to tell my kids when they didn’t want to try something harder. You’re not 9 years old.
