Texas Meet & Greet, Saturday, June 26th @ KI4U in Gonzales, Texas

After discussing this, we have decided that JUNE 26 seems like the best time for the meet-up.

It will be at Shane's place in Gonzales, TX and BBQ will be available, Shane will be ordering it from a local BBQ place and will cost a minimal amount, between $5 and 10 per per person -- still cheaper than grabbing a lunch at a restaurant.

We will need to get an approximate head count on who/how many are planning on coming - Shane has offered a camp-out location for anyone wanting to stay over Sat nite and leave Sunday.

Suggestions for the day are welcome, thinking of maybe bringing a covered dish for a pot luck to go with the BBQ for those who are able to get it there.

    Who wants to come play?

Saturday June 26th - Texas Meet & Greet - Gonzales, Texas

I'm planning from noon on, all afternoon, then for any that want to hang
around into the evening and visit more, we'll carry on as long as any like.
It won't even be getting dark till 9PM or so end of next month, anyways.

We've got a big cut grassy yard out back if any want to camp overnight,
too, instead of driving back home too late. We could accommodate some
camper RV's here, too. Also, there's an RV place nearby with hook-ups,
    if that's how you travel.

I'll make sure there's plenty of good/cheap BBQ and fixings and water and
soda's for all, throughout the afternoon, just need to BYOB if you'll want
anything more, which is fine. Bring an ice chest full of whatever else you
like best, like beer, etc. $5-$10 a head should cover everything. Be good to
bring your own portable chairs, too, as we likely won't have enough here.

Lining up my son's country band, but they won't be playing all the time, so
for any musicians amongst you, feel free to bring your own instruments, too.
Music will be at one far end, so it won't drown out everything, with plenty of
quieter meet, greet, mingle and visit room elsewhere, too.

I'm going to open this up for friends from TOL and Frugals, too, and other
similar forums, so feel free to spread the word amongst fellow Texas preppers
you'd like to have join you here for our Texas sized Meet & Greet, too!

Do need everybody to let us know here if it looks like you'll be joining us,
so we can get a rough idea of the potential turnout to feed and water.

Hope all that want to come find this a good time/place to join us, as I'm
guessing opportunities for Meet & Greets, and alliance building, amongst
your fellow prepping Texas neighbors will become rarer the way things are
    ramping up nowadays.

We're an hour south of Austin, hour east of San Antonio, and about 2 hours
    west of Houston.

Shane, I'm going to do my best to be there, but only if you promise to get me some hot links from Gonzales Market. Pray that I get a priest to cover me that Sunday. What's everybody gonna wear? I'll probably pick something in your basic black. Simple, but stunning.

Would like to go - will be checking with DH schedule today.

Update: He says yes - but needs to make sure he is not on call.

If not, we are planning on attending.

Thanks to all who planned this!

Been thinking on this - ByoBeverages and I will supply Tea -hope Shane will provied water and we will need ice. Bringing your own dishes nd glasses would help keep costs down.

If anyone has survival skills they would like to demo - let me know - could learn a lot of neat things - even simple things like knot tying (I have done macreme but the tie a functional know - I have tolearn it from a book every time I need to tie something down. Only limit is no live fire of guns - the property has been annexed and is now in the city limits.

Lurkers and non-TB2K members of your MAG also invited.

Members I posted about some ideas of things we could do in the BS here:
    http://www.timebomb2000.com/vb/showt...40#post3740440

If you have survival skills you would like to teach/demo let me know ... may be fun to share knowledge and skills

Will expand on this tomorrow - my night meds are kicking in and tyong skills -sucj as they are- are rapidly deteriorating and time for me to get to bed.

This could be a VERY important meet - the bus is on the downhill slope nd gaining speed imho, and jus pray things hold together through the weekend of June 26/27 so we can pull this off.

Come on sovereign citizens of the Republic of Texas, we need a better response. Oklahoma is getting a rip roaring response to their upcoming event. I mean really, Oklahoma?

I looked at the date and will try to make it. I'll speak to a few friends...maybe we can carpool. So...count me in for one (or two) and I'll let you know if I can bring anyone else.

Because the "or two" is my 19 yr old daughter and I need a hook to get her out of the house...any chance of shooting guns, throwing knives, or shooting a few arrows?

I believe Shane said no guns due to his location inside city limits, but if we could get a few hay bales and some pine blocks the knifes and arrows sound like fun. Can anyone help us out on this?

Looks like shooting there would be a problem, but maybe we could plan a shoot and show piknik for later this year at one of the many ranges in the area.

No need to send money, just show up and we'll take care of it all then, should
be between $5 - $10 a head, water & sodas free, bring whatever stronger you
    want to drink, too.

As we get closer to date we'll just need a better guestimation on how many
are coming to assure we have plenty enough BBQ and drinks for all.
